'Sounds' Like Winners At Goulburn On Sunday

Among a host of weekend racing, Goulburn has seven races to be run and won as part of its inaugural "Sunday Sounds Live on The Lawn" race meeting this weekend. Patrons and punters alike are invited to turn up and tune in to some great music at the picturesque tablelands track.

A quick look through the seven-race card highlights a number of 'musical chances' that all fit the 'tunes and thoroughbreds' theme.

Race 1 - Tash Burleigh Racing Maiden Hcp 1500m
Rondino (Greg Hickman / Keegan Latham)
Comment - name suggests a link to classical music and Beethoven but two runs to date have been all rock and roll!

Race 5 - Kilpatrick Metal Recyclers 4YO & UP B66 Hcp 1300m
All In Rhythm (Amanda Turner / Kathy O'Hara)
Comment - most topical tip of the day. Veteran performer who has had three number one songs at this venue. Horse and rider hit the right note at this track three starts back.

We Could Be Heroes (Tara & Phillipe Vigouroux / Winona Costin)
Comment - strips fitter third up and on recent form a chance of seeing his best ...just for one day!

Race 6 - Goulpro B58 Hcp 1600m
Black Star Bowie (Tara & Phillipe Vigouroux / Chad Lever)
Comment - as regular in the charts as Major Tom was but needs another number one hit to boost his overall record.

Nothingsweetaboutme (Waterhouse-Bott / Lee Magorrian)
Comment - earworm type of tune and this horse could be the same after a strong debut win at Canberra...destined to hear more from her!

Ita (Bjorn Baker / Jay Ford)
Comment - Cold Chisel believed in her and so does Baker racing as evidenced by committing to the Sunday float trip. Finding her groove in recent runs.

Classic Train (Ryan-Alexiou / James Innes Jnr)
Comment - out of Silent Symphony but she's banging the drums after a smart debut win.

The Rich Pitcher and Peg Leg Meg would make great horse names but they are actually the feature artists at Sunday's race day and will jam the afternoon full of fine tunes between races.

The weather also looks like being in harmony on back-up vocals with a top of twenty-eight degrees expected.

Entry is $20 per adult with live music throughout the afternoon. People are encouraged to bring a blanket and as a one-off their own eats if they feel like doing so.

Sunday Sounds Live on The Lawn will be run under relevant COVID restrictions and patrons will be given guidance by COVID marshals and race club staff during the event.

Goulburn's track is currently rated a Soft 5 with the opening number timed to go at 1.25pm.
