Selections For Goulburn Races (Thursday)

Tips Supplied By Goulburn Race Club

Track rating - Good 4 / Rail +6m

Race 1 - Goulburn Post Country Boosted Class 1 Hcp (1200m): 10. Sun Kiss ($2 favourite on TAB) backed up a handy summer trial with a solid return at Albury first-up when running on from a mile back. Back at home with an extra furlong finds a very winnable race.

Dangers: 2. Prince Papa ($3.70) struggled to make ground last start in a race they ran clear sub 33 seconds home. Extra trip suits third up. 8. My Little Viking ($4.20) fought on bravely in latest at this track and overall form is sound. Hard fit with a happy draw. 5. Via Rose ($17) was midfield in an open class trial recently and debuts for the in-form Seib stable. Should measure up.

Way to play - Sun Kiss win (TAB $2)

Race 2 - Goulburn Mulwaree Council Maiden Plate (1000m): 5. Sumo Star ($3.20) didn't have a lot go his way on debut before spelling. Recent trial was a willing one and gets the all options draw.

Dangers: 8. Miss Faberge ($1.85 fav) is right back in class here. May need further to show her best but will be running into it strongly late. 6. Koha ($17) delivered a brighter result second-up at this track and stable has been revving up of late. Must respect with a low draw. 3. Armageddon ($8.50) disappointed last start but two previous country grade runs were sound. Another chance.

Way to play -Sumo Star win (TAB $3.20)

Race 3 – Ray White Country Boosted Class 2 Handicap (1000m): 4. Raise Hell ($3.30) attracts good interest resuming on his home track. Finished no worse than fourth in three starts last campaign over short course trips. Despite the wide draw can win.

Dangers:  2. Bleue’s Choice ($6.50) is a super consistent animal with a stout record at this track and trip. Freshened into a suitable grade of race and should give a great sight from up on the speed. 1. Heart Of Vancouver ($3.10 fav) burst his bubble last start after winning two of his first three outings. Blinkers come off here and could easily bounce back. 5. Ronny Rock Art ($5) should race handy and was beaten less than two lengths at this venue in latest. Short course specialist with each-way claims.

Way to play - Raise Hell win (TAB $3.30)

Race 4 – Country Championship 17/3 Maiden Plate (1600m): 7. We’ve Gotta Deel ($4.20) is racing like this trip will be right up his alley. Specked in betting and made good late ground here last start clocking handy relative sectionals. Strong claims from a low draw.

Dangers: 10. Pioneer Lass ($3 fav) is proven at a mile but not as a winner yet. Racing well of late and has a reliable record when poking up the Hume to Goulburn. Fit enough to fight this out. 11. Highland Cathedral ($3.50) has the overall form to give this a shake despite a drop back in trip. Should box on bravely. 12. La Sagrada ($11) fits the bill for those playing wide early in the quaddie. Still improving and forgive latest where on-pace tactics and a wide draw proved too much.

Way to play - We've Gotta Deel each way (TAB $4.20)

Race 5 – Arron Grant Electrical Class 1 Hcp (1200m): 9. Proud Image ($4 equal fav) was competitive in genuine races last campaign and his recent trials have been excellent. Stable has a good record at this track and lots to like first up at this level.

Dangers: 5. Treasurer ($7.50) has had mixed results albeit in genuine races since a maiden win pre-Christmas. Finds a no excuses draw with the claim in what looks a winnable race. 6. Emerald Cut ($4.40) did what few do by winning on debut in fair time. Harder here but stable is powering along. 8. Keikoko ($6) resumes from a lengthy break but has shown previous talent in this type of grade. Drawn low and market watch advised.

Way to Play – Proud Image win (TAB $4)

Race 6 – Goulburn Hay Supplies Benchmark 58 Hcp (1600m): 6. Duchy Of Cornwall ($2.25 fav) proved way too smart on debut at Wagga and lands a lob and look alley. Up to a mile in tougher adds plenty of interest here.

Dangers: 3. Iknowastar ($3.10) aims up for a hat-trick of country grade wins but jumps up three kilos off latest winHolding his form well but harder again. 1. King Charles ($23) has run his best races at this trip and has a fitness edge on most.

Way to play - Duchy Of Cornwall win (TAB $2.25)

Race 7 - Brad Writer Constructions Benchmark 66 Hcp (1300m): 11. Our Baez ($5.50) is having a super productive campaign and deserved his latest win at this track. Form lines look reliable and jags a dream alley. Can deliver more of the same.

Dangers: 12. The Seven Seas ($2.70 fav) is putting it all together this time in and aims up for a hat-trick albeit in a deeper challenge. 8. Unique Prince ($4.40) is building a strong overall record and has found only one better in both runs back from a spell. Jumps four kilos but peaks third-up and gifted a home track draw 1. Get Shafted ($6) has delivered for connections all summer and is a proven weight carrier.

Way to play - Our Baez each-way ($5.50 TAB)
