Race 1 - 1:15PM SELECT EVENTS 2YO HANDICAP (900 METRES) |
---|
8. Lighthouse Lass ($3.30 on TAB) has been well educated for her debut with three trials for the Cassandra Stummer yard, her latest an eye-catching effort over 900m. She was entered for the Gimcrack Stakes as an early two-year old and has always shown good ability. Shes drawn to get the run of the race and figures to be in the finish.
Dangers: 5. Be Sharp ($2.25 favourite) and 7. Jasira ($16) come through the same trial at Scone behind Lighthouse Lass and have shown enough speed to be competitive on debut. 3. Comongin ($6) is next best for the Brett Robb stable on debut after a good trial win at Dubbo.
How to play it: 8. Lighthouse Lass WIN ($3.30)
Race 2 - 1:50PM LION BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (900 METRES) |
---|
This looks a nice race for 3. Fuld’s Doubt ($2.90) to get another win on the board. She resumes after a dominant trial victory over 900m and was thought enough of last preparation to contest the Denise’s Joy (1100m) at Listed level and a Tab Highway. She is drawn to get back in the run but is well placed after the 3kg claim.
Dangers: 5. Pride To Follow ($2 fav) was deep ended first-up over 1000m when not disgraced in city grade and was a good winner at both of her country starts prior to that. 4. Savoca ($10) and 1. Lizzie’s Gem ($12) can sneak into the minor money.
How to play it: 3. Fuld’s Doubt WIN ($2.90)
Race 3 - 2:25PM EMIRATES PARK BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1600 METRES) |
---|
3. Great Point ($4.20) struggled to finish her race off last start when tested in TAB Highway company for the first time over a mile. She will find this much easier and just has to overcome the wide draw.
Dangers: 5. Taipan Legend ($2.90 fav) broke through for a much-deserved win last start over 1600m at Dubbo, comes back to his home track and maps to get the run of the race. 2. Hammoon Thunder ($5.50) is ready to peak now third-up into his campaign and can figure in the placings while 1. Bertie ($4.20) will run his usual honest race.
How to play it: 3. Great Point WIN ($4.20)
Race 4 - 3:00PM COOLMORE BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (2200 METRES) |
---|
4. Shadow Shot ($2.70 fav) kept chipping away over 2300m last start when 4th behind Final Reset, prior to that he was a dominant winner over 2100m in Benchmark 66 grade. Only has to reproduce his past two performances to figure in the finish again.
Dangers: 5. Jack Of Aces ($5) will find this easier than provincial grade where he hasn’t been disgraced in his past couple. He maps to get a good run in transit and will have no issues at the 2200m. 3. Aiseirigh ($13) and 9. Yorikiri ($5) both have each-way claims.
How to play it: 4. Shadow Shot WIN ($2.70 fav)
Race 5 - 3:35PM ARROWFIELD COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES) |
---|
4. Crown Legend ($2.15 fav) was heavily supported first-up for the Griffith stable when narrowly defeated at Orange over 1000m. Steps to 1100m here and gets blinkers for the first time as well as the services of Aaron Bullock.
Dangers: 5. Gold Capital ($5) has trialled well for his debut and draws to get a good run in transit for Braith Nock. 1. Harry Tudor ($23) showed good ability when formerly trained by Brad Widdup and was competitive in both runs for Brett Robb. The son of Frankel resumes after more than a year off and warrants respect from a good draw with the claim. 2. Nor Nor West ($6.50) is the next best.
How to play it: 4. Crown Legend WIN ($2.15 fav)
Race 6 - 4:10PM DARLEY 3YO & UP MAIDEN HANDICAP (900 METRES) |
---|
5. See You Then ($4) has only had the one barrier trial in readiness for her debut where she showed good speed and is sure to be well educated from the Rod Northam stable. She is drawn to get a good run in transit over 900m and the early market support suggests she has good ability.
Dangers: 1. Straand Care ($2.70 fav) did enough on debut over 900m at Newcastle and is sure to take natural improvement coming back to country grade. 6. Sharoha ($4.20) is next best from the Nathan Doyle stable who has to be respected in this grade. 9. Cup Of Ambition ($11) has claims.
How to play it: 5. See You Then WIN ($4)
Race 7 - 4:50PM MITTYS SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1400 METRES) |
---|
1. Major Look ($2.60 fav) looks well set up coming back to country grade after running midfield in the Magic Millions maiden last start. He is drawn to get the run of the race from an inside draw and all his form last preparation in provincial and city grade has to be respected.
Danger: 8. Apache Jack ($7) has been a model of consistency this preparation and is knocking on the door to win a race - will get back from the draw and hit the line hard. 2. Xeres ($15) and 3. Bullfighter ($6) will make their own luck on speed and can both give a sight coming back to a dry surface.
How to play it: Major Look WIN ($2.60 fav)
Race 8 - 5:30PM TAB COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
11. Girrawheen ($4.40) is never far away and races well at Scone with form around Sir Remlap warranting respect in this grade.
Dangers: 12. Arambys ($8) and 14. Upwardly Mobile ($3.80 fav) can both run well on their home tracks and 5. Tea or Coffee ($8) maps for a good run and gets the services of Aaron Bullock.
How to play it: 11. Girrawheen WIN ($4.40)
