Sapphire Coast Winners - Tips For Monday 27th December

By Brad Gray

Tips and race by race preview by Brad Gray for Sapphire Coast

Race 1 - 1:39PM LINRAY FINANCE AND LEASING MAIDEN PLATE (1412 METRES)

6. Foxhole looks to have talent off his two public trials. Certainly enough to give this winnable race a shake on debut, anyways. The three-year-old is a half-brother to handy mare Foxborough. Kicks off over 1400m and the blinkers are on.

Dangers: 7. Manderboss was very well backed first up at Mudgee to jump favourite but was never in the hunt, giving away an impossible start. Will drift back again in this but out to 1400m helps.

How to play it: Foxhole WIN ($2.90 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 2 - 2:14PM GRAND MATRIARCH VODKA CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1412 METRES)

2. Gaylard swept to a brilliant victory at his first run for Joe Clearly back in July over 1400m and kicking off another preparation over the same trip could see him sprint in a similar manner late. Suspect this race is a lot more open than the early market suggests.

Dangers: 3. Shecago broke her maiden form in front so would suspect positive tactics from the low draw. Her subsequent second to The Drover reads well. 1. Super Helpful is the early odds on favourite and can win, but looks too short.

How to play it: Gaylard WIN ($11 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 3 - 2:49PM TATHRA BEACH BOWLO TATHRA CUP BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1612 METRES)

4. In My Wallet is no star but what’s in her favour here is being rock hard fit, getting back out to the mile and that she can make her own luck from on top of the speed. Got a long way back at Moruya last start when 1600m back to 1400m.

Dangers: When 7. The Chaplain last raced four weeks ago he finished less than a length behind In My Wallet. He was only second up there so potentially has more upside this campaign. The market has found him, however.

How to play it: In My Wallet WIN ($2.25 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 4 - 3:24PM TATHRA LITTLE BOTTLER MAIDEN PLATE (1012 METRES)

4. Globe Runner matched motors with Sir Crackle in his only trial, a 790m scamper at Kembla Grange. Sir Crackle was subsequently beaten half a length in town. Back in third was handy maiden Oblique. Draws well. Shouldn’t have any excuses.

Dangers: Wary of Keith Dryden’s filly 12. La Mia Via. She was heavily backed on debut in Canberra but bumped into a talented one before failing horribly at Moruya. She’s better than that and can bounce back after a spell.

How to play it: Globe Runner WIN ($4 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: EVENS

Race 5 - 4:04PM CLARKE LAW BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1012 METRES)

2. Factorize won her first two outings for Theresa Bateup and in really good style. She then found herself in a BM66 at Nowra. Forgive her that. Resumes off a spell on the back of a trial where she held her own against the likes of Frosty Rocks. Well placed in this.

Dangers: 1. It’s Business Time has the fitness advantage tackling this second up. The 10-year-old returned a winner at Albury too, getting the better of Haralben in the final stride. Can only run well again.

How to play it: Fatcorize WIN ($4.20 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 6 - 4:44PM TATHRA BEACH COUNTRY CLUB CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1212 METRES)

2. Hardy has an exceptionally strong SP profile and the last time he was at the races he fought out the finish with All Machiavellian. Wasn’t asked to do much in a recent Goulburn trial. Will put himself on top of the speed and is the horse to beat in a deep Class 2 sprint.

Dangers: 1. Rover resumes after a year on the sidelines and for a new trainer in Joe Ible. Won at Rosehill on debut and has p[laced behind the likes of Animate and and Mossman Gorge. There is no doubting the six-year-old’s talent.

How to play it: Hardy WIN ($3.20 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 7 - 5:24PM TATHRA BEACH HOUSE APARTMENTS MAIDEN HANDICAP (1212 METRES)

9. Tandhu mustered speed to take up the running in a Hawkesbury barrier trial win so she should be able to overcome the wide draw on debut. It was only an 800m heat and she went to the line largely untested but James Ponsonby will have her ready to go.

Dangers: 10. Annual has had a lot of chance but has placed six times from her 13 starts. 6. Super Offa worked to the line nicely on debut over 1000m and can improve sharply over a touch further.

How to play it: Tandhu WIN ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT
