Dubbo based horseman Brett Robb is in for a big day at Warren on Sunday when he takes a big team of gallopers to the track for the feature meeting.
Two of Robb’s best chances come up in the shape of Simply Xtravagant in the Qube Logistics Cotton Cup (1600m) and Deion in the Halcroft & Bennett Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000m).
“Simply Xtravagant is a mare that just continues to improve,” said Robb.
“She’s done nothing wrong since she joined the stable and has won her last four.
“She’s stepping up from benchmark 66 grade on Sunday but there’s nothing to suggest that she won’t run well again, even though she’s up to open company.”
Robb has only produced Deion for one start and that resulted in a win at Coonabarabran. The trainer has no doubts that the four-year-old can go on with the job.
“There was a lot to like about the win at Coonabarabran and the form around him has stood up well,” he said.
“From the good draw he should get the run of the race and be hard to hold out again.”
Robb will also start Luna Eagle in the B & D Brouff Excavation Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m), as well as Bliss in the Hutcheon & Pearce Showcase Super Maiden Plate (1400m).
“Luna Eagle was caught wide last time out and didn’t have much luck,” said Robb.
“The step up in distance suits and he should jump well and take up a prominent position.”
As for Bliss, Robb said she has improved since debuting for the stable with a last start fourth at Coonamble.
“She’s come on from that run and I expect her to be very hard to beat,” Robb said.
Mr Invincible and All I Have will represent Robb in the Macquarie Toyota Class 2 Handicap (1600m), while Moetta and Morgenstern are in the Matt’s Mates Warren Jockey Club Sprint (1200m).
“I can’t separate Mr Invincible and All I Have, and Moetta, I think, should be very hard to beat,” said Robb.
Castlebar Road is Robb’s other runner on the day in the Queensland Cotton Class 3 Handicap (1200m).
