Osland Stable Has "Live Chances" All Day At Inverell (Friday)

Rising regional trainer Stirling Osland, with a knack and an ongoing profit with city discards, offers enticing value throughout Friday’s booming TAB meeting at Inverell.

Armidale-based Osland has four starters throughout a capacity eight-race program, a compelling strike rate at Inverell, and a strong lead are dual scratchings from the Moree TAB meeting on Thursday with a preference for Inverell.

In particular, former Team Snowden galloper Kung Fu Mushu ($7 on TAB) in the final event and ex-Adam Duggan maiden Hasalake ($3.20 favourite) in the fifth event.

“We’ve got live chances but capacity fields and the bigger stables make for a tough day,” offered Stirling amidst a productive 23 season wins so far.

“Probably my best are Hasalake and Kingstar Bullet ($5), and I thought Hasalake would be better suited on the more spacious track, big run at Armidale, closed strongly at 1100m and out to 1200m is ideal.

“There should be enough tempo, long straight gives her every chance, yep, a degree of confidence the way she’s progressed.

“Before she came here, there were solid runs at Gosford and Wyong, this is a suitable maiden.”

While still a 10-race maiden, Hasalake does offer the consistency of seven placings and a strong finish as she contests a Inverell Women’s Shed 1200m with 57kg for Brooke Stower who rode her at Armidale.

Kingstar Bullet contests the Lyndsay Coyne 1400m BM74 and while she failed at Grafton last start on a Heavy 9, she won convincingly previously at Inverell and Armidale.

“This mare will bounce back for sure; super genuine and handles rain-affected. It was on the very worst side of heavy last time, so I’ve got it as a forgive. She’s won over the track and distance and races handy.”

Kung Fu Mushu contests the Royal Hotel Inverell Class 1, 1200m.

“Fitter for racing, there’s decent form early at Hawkesbury and Goulburn for this grade, she trialled OK, went a bit fierce so we’ve got a strong rider on (Ashley Morgan). She can be competitive.”

Inverell is a Soft 7 under cloudy skies but with no rain forecast.
