Oneofthetwelve Is One Of The Three For Seib At Goulburn (Monday)

Oneofthetwelve ($8 on TAB) heads up a three-pronged home track tilt for Danielle Seib at Goulburn on Monday and yes, the galloper's name is a biblical reference about Jesus and one of his besties, as Seib explained.

"His owner and breeder is 'John' - one of the twelve Apostles!" Seib referenced.

A bit of blind faith will take you a long way in racing and Seib says it might just pay off for connections with their gelding.

"He arrived to us a four-year-old a bit under twelve months ago.

"He had been broken in and not a lot else done with him and was still quite green and new."

An interesting name doesn’t guarantee a horse results though and Oneofthetwelve hasn't won a race ... yet ... but the early signs are good according to his trainer.

"He has always shown ability and to his credit he was able to go from there to a race start on close to a single prep."

Despite starting later than most, his top three debut result at Wagga in March has given the stable and connections something to go on with second time in.

"I feel he is a really talented horse who is going to feel his way through the racing experience. It wouldn’t surprise me if he bobbed up on Monday albeit he is still learning what racing is all about."

Seib will also produce another lightly raced galloper on Monday in two-year-old Griffinstown Girl ($7.50). The Headwater filly is first-up with apprentice Hannah Williams to steer.

Scratched from an alternative 1200m assignment in Race 2, Seib says her two start debut campaign was a good learning curve for both horse and trainer!

"She surprised us last preparation with how well she ran first up. She is a big raw filly who will need a mile in time."

The stable says she's heading in the right direction with more to do: "She has definitely matured a lot mentally but 1000m is well short of her best."

Chaotic Beauty ($6.50) rounds out Seib's tablelands trio in Race 6, a competitive Country Boosted B58 Hcp over a mile, her trainer happy to put the mare's recent Moruya trip in the rear-view mirror.

"She did have some excuses last start but her racing pattern lends herself to that and if you look at her overall record you can see that she needs things to go her way."

Seib says she's come through the road trip well and ticks few boxes you always look for in a race like this.

"Being an older mare she handles the travel well and this looked the next logical target for her after Moruya."

"She is very well weighted after the 3kg claim and credit to Hannah Williams who got off last start and suggested we try some weight relief. She is only a small mare and she may have been struggling racing up the weight scale in this grade."

Claiming apprentice Holly Durnan takes the sit come Monday and Seib’s trio look on par with her usual honest entries at the tablelands track.

Despite the tablelands winter the Seib stable has found a spring in its step for the first half of July, punching out a 33% winning strike rate from nine runners. The recent blue ribbons coming at Hawkesbury, Goulburn and Kembla Grange.

The Goulburn Good Oil suggests finding Monday's "Mo Money" via:

Oneofthetwelve ($8) - Race 4 No.3
Stand Your Ground ($18) - Race 5 No. 3
Rise To It ($8.50) - Race 7 No.8

Goulburn’s track is currently rated a Good 4 with Race 1, the Tash Burleigh Class 3 Hcp kicking things off at 12.15pm on Monday.
