Nowra Winners - Tips For Sunday 19th September

By Brad Gray

Tips and race by race preview by Brad Gray for Nowra.

Race 1 - 1:20PM KEL CAMPBELL FUEL HAULAGE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

Banking on class getting 1. Lucky To Win home first up, despite the big weight of 62kg and tackling the 1100m, a trip short of his best. All 11 of his previous starts have been in city or provincial class. Looks conservatively placed here to get the winning feeling back.

Dangers: 2. Taumalolo raced exclusively at the provincials last preparation and deserves respect while 4. Monte Di Fiore won her maiden over this track and trip and will a sight from in front.

How to play it: Lucky To Win WIN ($?? TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 2 - 1:55PM BOMADERRY BOWLING CLUB MAIDEN PLATE (1600 METRES)

10. Semeco got badly tightened at the top of the straight at Goulburn last start before picking himself up to run third. Prior to that he ran an eye-catching second in town, albeit in a weak race. Gets his chance to break through with Alysha Collett steering.

Dangers: 1. Believe So lacks a turn of foot but out to the mile with the blinkers going on, and dropping back to country company, gives her a great chance of cracking her maiden. 8. Largo Winch also gets the blinkers applied.

How to play it: Semeco WIN ($?? TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 3 - 2:30PM TAB BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

1. My Blue Jeans is a very capable horse on his day, as he showed last start when mowing down his rivals at Moruya, and like the progression out to the mile on the quick turnaround. This is very winnable.

Dangers:  Veteran galloper 8. Hypernicus is now a 12-year-old but his two runs back this time suggest there’s another win just around the corner. Has charged to the line in his two runs back and gets out to the mile now.

Race 4 - 3:05PM GREAT NORTHERN CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

8. Salute The Sun was an explosive winner first up this preparation, her first start for John Thompson, and the runner up subsequently won a Highway Handicap. Forgive last start when the speedy Nadaraja ran her rivals into the ground. Can bounce back out to 1400m.

Dangers: 7. Rapidity has won two of her past three and did it easily last start at Moruya. 8. Role Play continues to race well ending a run of placings with an overdue second win last week over this same track and trip.

How to play it: Salute The Sun WIN ($?? TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 5 - 3:40PM SOLOMON MOTOR GROUP MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES)

Half of the field are first starters but liked what we saw on debut from 1. Crimson Rock. The gelding started hard in the market on the back of impressive trials but cornered awkwardly over the 900m before picking himself up again to hit the line. All the better for the experience.

Dangers: Of the debutants, 10. Allande did enough in her trials for Ciaron Maher and David Eustance, a gun two-year-old yard. 2. Marvelous put her rivals away with style in a Rosehill trial but she draw wide.

How to play it: Crimson Rock WIN ($?? TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 6 - 4:17PM LIGHTHOUSE PLUMBING MAIDEN HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

1. Stay Wealthy showed terrific early speed to lead comfortably on debut at Wyong only to be overrun by the $1.40 favourite having sat on his shoulder. Liked how he fought on and Different Strokes has since run well again. Won’t be a maiden for long.

Dangers: 7. Jac’s Legacy did his best work late at Muswellbrook on debut over 1000m. Jumps straight out to 1400m at start two. 2. Good Deed has race experience on his side.

How to play it: Stay Wealthy WIN ($?? TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT
