New Long-Term Sponsor Locked In For Grafton Cup

Clarence River Jockey Club is pleased to announce a new long-term sponsor for the prestigious Grafton Cup.

CRJC has agreed to a four-year deal with one of its long-time sponsors in Westlawn Finance to take the naming rights for the $200,000 club feature conducted in July each year.

CRJC's Chairman, Graeme Green said: “Westlawn Finance has been a major supporter of the club for well over thirty years primarily as the sponsor for Westlawn Grafton Cup Prelude day.

"We are overjoyed that Westlawn Finance had elected to increase their support of Thoroughbred racing in the Valley with an increased investment in the carnival over the next four years.

"The CRJC looks forward to partnering with Westlawn Finance to even further enhance the Grafton Cup Day experience for both locals and visitors alike.”

Westlawn Finance CEO, Geoff Scofield said: “Westlawn is thrilled to have the opportunity to increase its commitment by way of sponsorship of the Grafton July Racing Carnival, particularly with such an iconic community event as the Grafton Cup with over a 100-year history.

"Given Westlawn also originated from Grafton in the 1960s and since successfully expanded operations throughout the northern rivers NSW and cities of Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne, it is fitting that Westlawn sponsored such a reputable country cup event, only possible thanks to our loyal and valued regional client supporters and staff.“

CRJC's CEO Michael Beattie added: “Westlawn Finance has been a major contributor not only to the economy of Grafton but to other major cities in Northern NSW and to be able to partner with such a respected organisation in the region with naming rights for the Grafton Cup is an exciting new step for the club.”

The deal with Westlawn Finance will cover the next four Grafton Cups from 2023 to 2026.
