Neil Evans' Tips For Port Macquarie (Monday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and rail out 2m.

Race 1 - 1:45PM THANK YOU TO OUR MEMBERS CG&E MAIDEN PLATE (1106 METRES)

8. Wobbly Boots is an emerging three-year-old by Pierata who can claim the opener in what shapes as a two horse battle. Hasn't started since a solid debut in a feature sprint at Muswellbrook last May, but looked in good order in a recent provincial trial. 4. Wild Sensation is the logical threat resuming for his first run since spring behind two progressive trials. Big gap to the rest headed by 3. Raw Gold who ran home okay first-up at Tamworth.

How to play it: Wobbly Boot to win and quinella 4 & 8

Race 2 - 2:20PM GET WELL SOON GREG WYNDHAM F&M MAIDEN PLATE (1106 METRES)

9. Spiethtacular also looks to have a very thin race on a platter 17 days after missing by a head on debut. Had to make up plenty of early ground that day when backed from $3.20 into $2.50, and as long as she gets away cleanly, can settle in the prime spot and pounce late. Scratched from Coffs Harbour on Sunday to be saved for this. 8. Miss Capitale, a filly by Capitalist on debut for the Matthew Smith stable, comes off two trials and can run the quinella. 3. Tosmian hits peak fitness now. Gap to the rest.

How to play it: Spiethtacular to win

Race 3 - 2:55PM MCGUIGAN BMW RACEDAY 29 MARCH CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1006 METRES)

5. Our Emily is an emerging provincial filly who can make it two straight at this course after tracking the speed and going home best on debut. Again draws to park right behind the speed, and will carry 1kg less after the claim. 1. Eclair Vitality is primed to go back to back after sweeping home to easily win his maiden at Scone as a heavily backed favourite. 2. El Beatle also comes off a dominant maiden win third-up, although faces a trickier draw this time. 3. Aquafire, resuming and trained on the track, heads the rest.

Race 4 - 3:30PM PARADOX MEDIA COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP (1509 METRES)

12. Tatiana Express is well placed from the inside draw to strike second-up. Tracked the speed and failed to finish off in a deeper maiden three weeks back, but the second horse from that race then came out and scored an ultra impressive Super Maiden win next start. Bred to get further and will be strong late. 7. Highland Mirage is bursting to win one ahead of his 20th start. Drops back to country level after running home fairly on the Beaumont track three weeks ago. 10. Secret Keeper is a big market watch resuming off a long break for a new stable who knows how to get them ready, and draws a soft barrier. 1. Einstein's Theory has to overcome a tough draw, but has shown solid improvement in three runs. 4. Clever Illusion is hard fit, and improves sharply coming back significantly in trip.

How to play it: Tatiana Express to win

Race 5 - 4:10PM CHAR BAR CATERING BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1509 METRES)

1. All Hunky Dory is a lightly raced eight-year-old shooting for a third straight win. One time Hong Kong-based galloper who returned off a very long break to miss narrowly on his Australian debut late last year before dominating with back-to-back wins at Taree as a heavily fancied favourite. Carries only a half kilo more here after the claim, and racing like there are much bigger targets in mind down the track. The one to beat. 2. Otium is a threat after a solid BM 58 win second-up. 5. Corpsman finished hard to win in this grade at Scone two starts back. 4. Spiritly similarly charged home to win a BM 58 two runs ago before being outclassed in tougher CL3 Highway grade. 9. The Coat Hanger is the best of the rest.

How to play it: All Hunky Dory to win

Race 6 - 4:50PM JOHN OXLEY MOTORS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1812 METRES)

7. Yorikiri is a progressive and underrated mare who can make it two straight after sweeping home for a dominant BM 66 win here deep into the prep. Back in a thinner race now, and despite a significant rise in weight, is drawn to get the right trail and prove too strong late. 8. Sebastian's Flyer is fit and has a big finish on his day, draws to find cover back in the field and be saved up for one final burst. 2. Nothing's Sacred can progress off a tidy first-up run at Scone. 6. Enterprise Private is another each-way threat resuming for the Kris Lee stable behind a quiet 1200m trial. Gap to the rest.

How to play it: Yorikiri to win

Race 7 - 5:30PM TAB VENUE MODE COUNTRY BOOSTED BM58 HANDICAP (1206 METRES)

5. Royal Teens is well placed to claim the closer third-up after hitting the line late here three weeks back. Drawn to get a soft run right behind the speed. 1. Starry Jack has been in and around the money all prep in generally deeper races, but a shade under the odds from an awkward draw. 7. Typhoon Neta has to overcome a wide gate, but was impressive flooding home to beat a similar field here second-up at big odds. 4. Rommel's Wolf who will relish getting back out over more ground, and at bigger odds 8. Lord Akomeed third-up and trained on the course; both go in wider exotic plays.

How to play it: Royal Teens to win
