Neil Evans' Tips For Narromine (Monday)

By Neil Evans

Track Good 4 and rail out 4m from 900m to 300m & True the remainder:

Race 1 MAIDEN PLATE (1100m):

Progressive four-year-old 2. Byron's Farm finds an ideal race resuming off a 28 week spell. Was beaten narrowly in consecutive runs early in the year at Orange before the break, and looked right up to the mark in a trial 12 days ago. Draws to find a trail just off speed, and has only missed a place once in four starts.

Dangers: 4. Stratified will find this easier coming back from provincial company fourth-up, and draws inside with a gear change. 3. He's All Style worked home late second-up, and the extra 100m here is a bonus. Watch the market around debutant filly 12. Sabatina by Churchill who has trialled okay; while lightly raced 6. Pressipitating can improve sharply second-up over a furlong further at big odds.

How to play it: Byron's Farm to win

Race 2 MAIDEN PLATE (1100m):

Finally 1. Fuel The Jet, a six-year-old by Starcraft in the Cameron Crockett stable, starts his career after plenty of setbacks. Sat well off the speed in a trial 12 days ago but cruised home between runners to win impressively with plenty in the tank and running good time. Ready to make up for lost time.

Dangers: 5. Coella resumes off a lengthy break and steady trial from the inside draw; 2. Light Infantry, a debutant by Snitzel from the Gayna Williams yard, showed speed in a trial, but was pushed out and overrun by a narrow margin late. Gap to the rest headed by 6. Dervinia third-up.

How to play it: Fuel The Jet to win

Race 3 CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1600m):

Versatile and sparingly raced 6. World Reign can strike here at good odds staying at the distance third-up. Liked the way he ran home into a place at Wagga through inferior ground, and is drawn here to get to the outside over the final 400m.

Dangers: 1. Best Of Maher has ability and banging on the door third-up, but has to overcome the outside barrier. 13. Fantasy Crowned draws to be right in the finish fourth-up over more ground. Keep safe 7. Cafe Award getting to this trip fourth-up; while 8. Ishamashi, 10. Way To Divine and 12. Margaret's Missile, are all capable of running into the minor money.

How to play it: World Reign to win

Race 4 MAIDEN HCP (1300m):

Jumping quickly to his pet distance second-up, 2. Infinite Prince is well suited in a thin maiden. Didn't do much resuming off a long break over too short a trip, but this is way more to his liking, carries 1.5kg less after the claim, and has a 50 percent place record from 10 starts.

Dangers: Another Dubbo visitor, lightly raced 1. Seven Mile Missile also improves second-up over a furlong further. 5. Spirit Rouge second-up; and 6. Casdaemon third-up, are clear best of the rest.

How to play it: Infinite Prince to win

Race 5 CLASS 2 HCP (1300m):

Tough mare 7. Rebel Dreamer didn't get a lot of luck in the run when still finding the line well second-up in BM 66 grade. Draws to get the right trail, and this is a shade easier.

Dangers: 9. Earl Of Bantry defied a betting drift to lead all the way in a CL1 win when having his first run In NSW. 1. Big Shot Legend is a reliable weight carrier who has only missed a place once in his last five, is fairly treated at the weights after the claim, and well over the odds. Expect sharp third-up improvement at huge odds from 3. Bravezel with the blinkers going on. Keep safe 6. Sammiballerina who did his best work late second-up in a BM 66 at Mudgee. Including last start CL1 winner 8. Extreme Merger; and 10. Wolf Bay who draws wide third-up; in trifecta and first four plays.

How to play it: Rebel Dreamer to win

Race 6 BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1600m):

Capable 4. Stockholm is primed to win again fifth-up staying over the mile. Took on deeper CL3 Highway opposition at Rosehill before making a bold attempt to lead all the way at Wagga in this grade, only being collared over the final 50m. Will roll forward again from a low draw, and back on a tighter circuit is a big plus pattern-wise.

Dangers: Honest mare 3. Zounile has won two of her last three up to this level, although a wide draw under 60.5kg is a real query. Watch for any market support aboard ex-Victorian 6. Bossa Nova Lad, resuming off a nine week break for the new local stable. Keep safe 7. Charlotting who hasn't won for a while, but all three career wins from 32 starts have come over the mile. Include in all exotics 8. Rolled Gold who draws low and is deep into the prep.

How to play it: Stockholm to win

Race 7 BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1100m):

A heap of chances in this sprint. Improving mare 9. Simply Better rushed home to win second-up at this level, and boasts a near 20 percent winning strike rate from 26 starts.

Dangers: Big watch on 6. Where'stheprofit who beat a handy maiden field on debut at Mudgee when backed from $3.00 into $2.50. 1. Dyerville draws wide, but drops in grade second-up off a five week turnaround since being transferred from Victoria to Dubbo. Consistent 10. Laisvas has been in the money all five runs since late April, including a dominant BM 58 win at Wellington. 3. Pyromania is very honest and also comes back in grade, but has to get over from a tough draw carrying far more weight. Another one hard fit, 11. Obey is an each way chance having beaten all bar the winner in her last two; while 12. Kora Magic will need all her customary speed drawn right off the track.

How to play it: Simply Better to win

Race 8 CLASS 1 HCP (1100m):

Lightly raced 3. Goonoo resumes off a nice trial win from a low draw in his first outing for the Rod Northam stable at Scone. Over the odds.

Dangers: 9. Not Written Off is well placed third-up with a stronger jockey taking over. So too at bigger odds is improving 1. Prince Of Sepang peaking fourth-up. Expect 4. Gecko Coin to be hitting the line late; while 5. Plenitude is also first-up, and another one who likes to settle back and find the line, although the inside draw may not do him any favours. Improving 8. My Turn Astern beat an average maiden field second-up.

How to play it: Goonoo to win

BEST BETS:
R1 2. BYRON'S FARM
R6 4. STOCKHOLM

BEST VALUE:
R4 2. INFINITE PRINCE
