Lundholm Selects Stockholm As His Best For Parkes (Saturday)

By Tony Megahey

Dubbo ace Clint Lundholm “enduring” soaring regional temperatures with his substantial stable, has numbered up at the Parkes TAB meeting on Saturday and assesses with guarded confidence.

Lundholm, amidst his most productive seasons, has eight runners spread through the seven-race program, some duals where inside barriers and on-pace gallopers are essential on the tight and turning track.

“Sure are, always a tough day with big fields, I like to think I’ve got live chances all day, pinning me down, probably Stockholm," Clint said.

Dubbo trainer Clint Lundholm - has a strong team heading to Parkes

"He's a nice horse on the up and Nest in the Hills in the last; back in grade from strong races last prep.”

Stockholm, a lightly raced dual winning three-year-old, contests the Telescope and Hankook Tyres BM 58m, 1600m with 59kg for Serg Lisnyy.

“He destroyed them in a maiden by ‘six’ at Cowra, steady field, but led again to win at Warren in a Class 1.

"And he was really brave jumping to a Class 3, 1800m at Gilgandra where he was taken on and kept finding,” Lundholm enthused.

“Back to the ‘mile’ suits on this track. At three, first prep, got the makings of a good horse.”

Stockholm is a Darby Racing, Bull Point protégé.

Dual winner Nest in the Hills, quaintly named with the dam Touch the Fire and sire Outreach, contests the Parkes Property Class 2 1400m.

”He’s been tardily away last couple, drew wide at Gilgandra, so forgive, he did place at Wellington and Mudgee and from the good gate, he’s in his right race.”

Bargain front running mare London Gal is the value for Scott Collings his only runner for the day in the Parkes Servcies Club Australia Day Open Handicap.

Purchased online for just $13,000 in February last year, London Gal won at Goulburn and then led all the way to win the $30,000 Narooma Cup from a strong field at Moruya mid-December and looks the leader here.

At present Parkes is a Soft 5 in fine weather.
