Trainer Clint Lundholm has claims for a big day at Gilgandra on Sunday when a number of the stable’s runners go around.
Lundholm has Stockholm and Avalicious in the Gilgandra Toyota Coo-Ee Cup – Class 3 Handicap (1800m) and while Stockholm is the pick of the pair, Avalicious has been racing well enough to be rated a winning chance.
“Stockholm won well two starts ago and then did the job well last time out,” said Lundholm.
“This race looks made to order again.”
Lundholm has Mission Declare in the Ahrens Super Maiden Handicap (1280m) and while the galloper is big odds the trainer has high hopes that the horse will run well.
“He’s lightly raced and is worth though,” said Lundholm.
Lundholm’s best chances appear to come up in the Think Water Outwest Dubbo, Bob Foran Memorial Gilgandra Town Plate (1100m).
Raging Rush and Beauchamp will line up in the event and while Raging Rush is the pick of the pair, Beauchamp has been racing well.
“Raging Rush is my best chance of the day,” said Ludholm.
“He’s lightly raced but has been showing plenty of promise.
“I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t run well.”
Lundholm has a number of gallopers set to run well at Gilgandra including Nest In The Hills, Tupou and Invest In Love in the Jokers Ink, Kate Smith Memorial Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1100m).
Invest In Love is also engaged to run at Orange on Tuesday but may well run in the Gilgandra event.
Macchina Volante is one of three Lundholm trained gallopers set to contest Gilgandra Services Club Gilgandra Club (1600m) but comes into it on the back of some solid Northern Rivers events.
“He’s a horse that has run well in some good quality races,” said Lundholm.
“I bought him with a view that he could win some country cups and he gets his chance to win one on Sunday at Gilgandra.”
Lundholm also has Notabadidea and Majestic Wings in the feature race.
“They all should run well,” he said.
“Macchina Volante is the best of them though and I can’t wait to see him run."
