There are nine last winners engaged at Goulburn on Monday as part of a strong eight-race card on a track that has snuck back to Soft 5 rating (as at Sunday afternoon).
At the head of that last start winners list is the locally trained filly Adventure Seeker chasing an industry rare hatrick of wins for the Danielle Seib camp. She steps out as the $2.80 favourite (TAB Fixed Odds) in Race 3, The Country Outfitters B58 Hcp over 1300m.
Not to be outdone by a neighbour, Pat Murphy keeps the ‘last start first home fit’ with Winona Costin and a good draw for Isagura, a $5.00 pre-post chance in Race 6, The Divalls Earthmoving F&M Class One Hcp over 1000m.
Danny Williams will look to give apprentice and race day debutant Dale Cole a leg up with his last start winner Chemtrail ($3.10). The three-year-old resumes in Race 7, The Complete Plumbing Solutions CG&E Class One over 1000m.
Jockeys heading to Goulburn with that winning feeling in the reins reflects a touch of blarney courtesy of Keagan Latham and Louise Day. Both hoops also in touch with that last start win type of vibe.
Latham bagged a winning double at Newcastle on Saturday and his tablelands tilt is a strong one with four of his five rides at single figure quotes with TAB Fixed Odds. Latham’s five rides include last start winner and Wagga visitor Tenner ($6.00-Race 6) along with Deni Gal ($4.80 - Race 3), De Louviere ($5.50 - Race 2) and Honey Perfume ($3.10 – Race 8) all three coming off minor placings last start.
Not to be outdone by her compatriot, Louise Day has been all positive energy in the past week notching three wins and four minor placings from her last eleven rides. Her winning ride on Correon (Michael Freedman) at Newcastle on Saturday a perfect ‘jump lead win’ effort.
Day will look to urge tough local stayer It Is Be (Pat Murphy $17) to his second win in the space of eight days as part of a three-ride run up the Hume.
Goulburn track is currently rated a Soft 5 for Monday with Race 1 timed to go at 12.00pm.
