4. Stylebender has only won one race from 34 starts but he has a further nine placings to his name and comes into this on the back of placings at his last three starts. He is primed to break through again with Aaron Bullock taking the ride.
Dangers: 2. Gangplank ran well when placed at this track two starts ago and then was just behind the placings when fourth at Armidale last time out. He has the talent to be placed in this. 5. Jubilee Queen was just behind Gangplank at her latest start and a forward showing is on the cards again here. 7. Farraige was placed here at his latest start and is not out of this if he can repeat that effort.
How to play it: Stylebender WIN.

2. Zampano had two starts earlier this year and won each of them in good style at this track and Gunnedah. He’s had a trial leading into this resuming run and only needs to have maintained what he’s shown to date in order to be winning again.
Dangers: 5. Zahdi wasn’t beaten far when midfield at this track before being spelled. She hadn’t been beaten far in her runs before that that and she should give plenty of cheek here if anywhere near her best. 6. Ardonaugh has been placed in her latest two starts at Moree and Port Macquarie and should figure prominently again. 1. Gold Lover has two wins and four placings from 16 starts and has the ability to run well here after two close-up efforts since resuming from a spell.

Dangers: 1. Triti is a well-bred gelding having his first start in his and he has had a number of trials in preparation. He ran second in a Wyong trial in January and since then has had three trials leading into this and ran second in the latest of them at Scone. 7. Casdaemon ran third at Quirindi last time out and can also figure in the placings again. 8. Harsh Mistress has the inside gate and can be placed.

Dangers: 1. Taipan Legend ran well when finishing second at Dubbo when resuming from a spell and was then midfield at Scone at his latest start. He’s shown enough ability to be rated a contender here. 3. Dubious Six debuted at Armidale and ran well enough when finishing fourth. He has place claims on that effort. 7. Lightning Speed has shown enough in her four starts to be rated a place chance in this.

5. Red Beryl had been racing well enough before breaking through last time when good odds and scoring a narrow victory at Armidale. He is a consistent enough performer with strong claims.
Dangers: 1. Russley Crown resumed with a second at this track at the end of September and since then he’s been down the track at Newcastle and Armidale with a couple trials either side. He can improve here. 4. Jacenza won well at Coonabarabran three starts ago before having two city starts and not being beaten far in either. He has the ability to be prominent again in this. 9. King’s Duty led throughout to score at Scone in good style two starts ago and ran well again when third at Scone at his latest outing.

Dangers: 4. Tavros was a winner at Gunnedah before being spelled and then resumed with a beaten effort at Moree as favourite. Expect him to improve in this. 7. Deebo has finished third in both runs back from a spell and can figure in the placings again if he can run up to those performances. 1. Burraneer Buoy hasn’t been too far away in four starts since winning at this track and can figure.
How to play it: Rura Penthe WIN.
Race 8 - 5:30PM MCDONALDS TAMWORTH BM74 HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
2. Florino is a four-time winner from nine starts and ran well enough at Randwick when midfield last time out when not beaten too far. This looks a nice race for him to bounce back.
Dangers: 6. Code In Time started favourite at Scone when resuming from a spell and raced on the speed only to go down narrowly when finishing a close-up second. He should run well again in this company. 9. Who Goes There started favourite when leading throughout to score at this track when resuming and he wasn’t beaten too far at Scone last time out when disappointing. 14. Great Siege won at this track at the end of September when leading throughout and has had a trial since then to be kept up to the mark for this.
