Selections based on a soft track
Race 1 - 1:35PM BRYCON CIVIL COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
12. Off The Scale is on debut and has had two barrier trial in April and then earlier this month in preparation. She’s drawn wide but has shown enough in the trials to indicate she can run well.
Dangers: 2. Savagoodtime was down the track at Tuncurry at his only start but was well in the market in that event and is capable of a sharp improvement here. 3. Manik finished fourth in his first two starts earlier in the year and resumed from a spell with a fifth at Scone late last month. He has the talent to run well. 8. Tomoe Gozen is a mare on debut and she comes into this on the back of a third in a Scone trial.
How to play it: Off The Scale WIN.
Race 2 - 2:10PM TAMWORTH CITY TOYOTA MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES) |
---|
5. Russley Tiara had two starts earlier in the year and followed a second on debut at Scone when racing on the speed and battling on well with a fifth at Scone and then being spelled. She ran second in a trial before resuming from a spell with a fifth at Muswellbrook when not beaten too far. She strips fitter for that run and is worth plenty of thought here.
Dangers: 13. Bakhita finished second in a Scone trial leading into this debut. She’s a well-bred filly that has a good barrier here and she looks primed to run well. 2. El Beatle has had two starts since joining a new stable. He missed a place as a short-priced favourite two starts ago then went down narrowly when second at Kempsey. This race looks within his reach. 16. It’s A Written failed to fire in two runs earlier in the year but resumes here on the back of a solid enough trial.
How to play it: Russley Tiara WIN.
Race 3 - 2:50PM CANNON ACCOUNTING & TAXATION CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
2. Arctic Legend had shown some talent early in his career and since joining the Cody Morgan stable he has found winning form. He resumed and had his first start for Morgan when scoring at this track in April, then backed that up with a second win before being spelled again. He’s had two trials leading into this.
Dangers: 6. Deebo was a winner at this track back in January and was then spelled. He resumed with a seventh at Armidale when only beaten two lengths. He can figure prominently here. 9. Lord Of The Sun was placed at Moree when resuming and wasn’t disgraced here last time out. 10. Prince Carlos is a last start Armidale placegetter and could sneak into the placings again if he runs up to that.
How to play it: Arctic Legend WIN.
Race 4 - 3:25PM SHAY BRENNAN CONSTRUCTIONS SPRING CUP BM82 (1200 METRES) |
---|
1. Russley Crown resumes from a spell here and he did win a Country Chanpionships event at this track earlier in the year. He was runner-up in the Gunnedah Cup two starts ago and has had two trials leading into this. He goes well fresh.
Dangers: 2. Rhythm Is A Dancer won a Scone trial before resuming with a fifth at this track behind Driving Force. 4. Jacenza is talented at best and could show up if the breaks go his way. 8. Roussos was placed at Moree two starts ago then ran well enough when a last start fourth at Mudgee. He has the ability to figure in the money.
How to play it: Russley Crown WIN.
Race 5 - 4:05PM CONCRETE INDUSTRY SUPPLIES BM66 HANDICAP (1600 METRES) |
---|
10. Foolish did the job well when coming from back in the field to score a strong win at Wyong two starts ago. He since ran home evenly when midfield at Wyong behind Etched In Time. He handles wet tracks well and this looks well within his reach.
Dangers: 3. Syrian Star failed to figure at this track last time out but her previous form was solid and she can improve enough to give plenty of cheek here. 6. Leica Model won two on end at Moree before finishing midfield at Grafton when last produced. She’s racing well enough to give this a shake. 1. Ring Ahoy has had plenty of chances but will find this much easier than his recent runs.
How to play it: Foolish WIN.
Race 6 - 4:40PM DYNAMIC FIRE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1400 METRES) |
---|
6. Release Point was a winner on debut at Narromine and then finished midfield at this track before being spelled. He had a trial at Scone before resuming with a midfield effort at the same track when beaten 3.5 lengths. He should be better for that hitout and can figure prominently.
Dangers: 1. Great Siege has had two runs back from a spell and finished fifth at Newcastle when resuming before a last start fourth as favourite at this track when racing on the speed and battling on well. 2. Rura Penthe has been close-up without being placed in both runs back from a break and has had a trial leading into this. 5. Blazed Prince followed a second at this track with a strong win here last tine out when leading throughout. He should run well again.
How to play it: Release Point EACH WAY.
Race 7 - 5:20PM COURTHOUSE HOTEL CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1000 METRES) |
---|
2. Jet Empress was second-up from a spell when hitting the line well to score a win at this track at her latest start. She is lightly raced but is building a good record and she only needs to run up to her latest effort in order to be hard to hold out again.
Dangers: 1. Who Goes There looked good winning his first two starts last year then was spelled. He was unplaced in both runs in December last year and January and resumes again here. He has plenty of talent and will take beating if anywhere near his best. 4. Sir Freddie was a Highway winner at Randwick four starts ago and since then was down the track at Scone before contesting two more Highway’s, the latest being a solid effort when seventh at Randwick. 6. Outta De Lady has been placed in each of his latest two starts with both being at this track. He can be placed again here from the good draw.
How to play it: Jet Empress WIN.
