Selections based on a good track
Race 1 - 1:55PM GREENDALES CAFE PYREE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES) |
---|
2. Midnight Dynamite is lightly raced with only two starts to his name and he followed a solid fifth on debut at Muswellbrook with a second start victory at Goulburn when racing in the lead and fighting on too strongly to score. He’s had two trials to prepare for this return to racing and won the latest of them at Warwick Farm by a big margin.
Dangers: 5. Picksix has a win and a second to his name from just the six starts and this race isn’t overly hard. He can improve on a last start down the track effort at Newcastle. 3. Woodzy ran second at Goulburn when resuming from a spell and hasn’t been too far away in two runs since then. He should give cheek here. 1. Promising Prospect has a win and four placings from 10 starts and is one of the leading chances in a small field here.
How to play it: Midnight Dynamite WIN.
Race 2 - 2:30PM PELICAN ROCKS CAFE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1400 METRES) |

5. Miss Kim Kar is a filly by Pierata that has only had the three starts. She debuted with a seventh at Hawkesbury before a second at Orange when running home well. She broke through with a maiden win here two weeks ago when scoring by a decisive margin and can go on with the job.
Dangers: 9. Cashburn had some solid form in her first two starts before running at this track last time out and doing the job well to score a solid win in maiden grade. She only needs to have maintained that form to be hard to hold out in this. 1. Suspect has shown ability in his career and while he has been down the track in his latest two starts, he is more than capable of showing up here. 3. Spencer’s Spirit hasn’t been far away in two runs back from a spell deserves respect.
How to play it: Miss Kim Kar WIN.
Race 3 - 3:05PM GREENWELL POINT PIZZA MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES): |

11. Threefold is a lightly raced Yes Yes Yes filly that has had three starts. She wasn’t beaten far when debuting with a sixth at Wagga behind Take The Rap then led them up at Moruya and fought on well enough to finish second behind Commandero. She since finished fifth at Newcastle and a repeat of that form would have her hard to hold out here.
Dangers: 8. Isagura has one placing to her name from five starts. She hasn’t been too far from the action in any of her starts and bears close watching here in what isn’t a hard race. 10. Sawmill is on debut and while she was down the track in her only trial, she can show improvement in this. 2. Downpour was down the track when resuming here but can lift on that effort in this.
How to play it: Threefold WIN.
Race 4 - 3:40PM ANTAX STEEL CONSTRUCTIONS MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES) |

6. Super Sugoi was big odds when charging home late from back in the field to finish third behind Miss Kim Kar at this track two week ago. A repeat of that would have him hard to hold out.
Dangers: 5. Stonegate Lane hit the line well last time out to finish second in the same race Super Sugoi contested. He’s drawn well here and should play a part in the finish again. 2. O’Explosive also comes out of the same race and he finished seventh in the event and could be placed here on his best form. 8. Fair Maiden was placed at Canberra when resuming from a spell and is not out of this.
How to play it: Super Sugoi WIN.
Race 5 - 4:20PM GREENWELL POINT HOTEL TOWN PLATE BM58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
4. Parthenope had looked good in two barrier trials before making her debut and running well when leading throughout to score as a short-priced favourite at Goulburn. She has drawn wide here but looks to have the talent to overcome that.
Dangers: 5. Prince Papa struck winning form again when scoring a solid win at Bathurst when last produced. He had some solid form leading into that effort and can show up here at his best. 6. Sapphires Son is a last start Canberra winner that warrants respect here now that he’s back in form. 2. Thoughtful was a debut winner at Goulburn and hasn’t been disgraced in three starts since then,
How to play it: Parthenope WIN.
Race 6 - 4:55PM SOUTH COAST RETREAT GREENWELL POINT CUP BM58 (1600 METRES) |
---|
6. Outcast Girl has shown some ability in her career and followed a midfield Newcastle effort when resuming with a tough last start win at this track when fighting strongly to the line to score by half a length. This looks well with her reach again.
Dangers: 3. Welcometobarbados resumed from a spell with a win at Wagga then won again at Goulburn before a last start fourth at Wagga as favourite. She has shown enough talent to be rated a winning chance here. 11. My Blue Jeans has been around for a long time having had 123 starts. He ran well when a last start third here and can be thereabouts again. 1. Overice failed to beat a runner home when resuming at Kembla Grange but can improve in this.
How to play it: Outcast Girl WIN.
Race 7 - 5:30PM GREENWELL POINT BOWLING & SPORTS CLUB MAIDEN (1200 METRES) |
---|
6. The Main Event ran well when second on debut at Moruya then was down the track here as favourite before a spell. He resumed with a disappointing effort at Moruya before improving sharply when hitting the line well for a last start at this track. The extra distance suits in this.
Dangers: 1. Artifactx has been placed in three of his five starts and resumed from a spell with a last start second at Orange. That form looks good for this despite the wide gate. 11. Nambi Ghima has had two trials leading into this debut and could run well fresh. 4. Whiskey George was placed at Cootamundra on debut and then failed to fire at Canberra last time out. This isn’t a hard race. And he can bounce back to form.
How to play it: The Main Event WIN.
Best Bets:
Race 2 (5) Miss Kim Kar.
Race 7 (1) The Main Event.
Best Value:
Race 6 (6) Outcast Girl.
