Selections based on a good track
Race 1 - 12:35PM RAY SILBURN CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1800 METRES) |
---|
6. Zabellsareringing is an ultra-consistent type which has just the one win to his name but has a further 10 placings from his 14 starts. He’s figured in the minor money in his latest five starts and the 1800m looks made to order.
Dangers: 4. Royal Pharoah has drawn wide but has shown more upside than many of his rivals here. 8. Pine Valley is still a maiden but has claims here here. 9. Dealers Delight has shown some talent and is not out of this.
How to play it: Zabellsareringing WIN.
Race 2 - 1:10PM WAGGA & DISTRICT RACING SUPPORTERS CLUB MAIDEN (1180M) |
---|
3. Conjoin is a two-year-old taking on the older gallopers here. He ran well enough in a trial at Goulburn before debuting with a half-length second at Albury. The step up in distance suits.
Dangers: 1. Foxwell is a handy performer that has been placed in three of his five starts. He ran well in his latest start at Scone and is well worth including among the main chances here. 2. Big Wandji comes into this this on the back of a solid trial and is worth including among the main chances. 4. Astern Touch has shown ability in his lightly raced career and is worth including among the main chances here.
How to play it: Conjoin WIN.
Race 3 - 1:50PM TOOHEYS EXTRA DRY 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000 METRES) |
---|
2. Alfavita was on debut in much tougher company when finishing near last in the Inglis Nursery at Randwick in December 2022. He was spelled after that and wasn’t seen again until following a close-up fourth in a Hawkesbury trial last month with a second in a Warwick Farm hitout.
Dangers: 8. Divron is a filly on debut by Divine Prophet. She’s won a recent trial at Wagga at looks set to run well here. 6. That’s The Word has been racing well and is not out of this. 3. Finn’s The Icon has been placed in four of six starts and must be respected here.
How to play it: Alfavita EACH WAY.
Race 4 - 2:30PM SOUNDS OF THE MOUNTAINS CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1000M) |
---|
10. Mikki Shima started favourite on debut at the Sapphire Coast when she showed speed in a small field to race in a forward position before clinging on to score narrowly. It was a sound performance and she gets the advantage of barrier one here which should give her every chance.
Dangers: 4. Shelly’s Ace has a win and two placings to her name from five starts. She was a winner at Goulburn three starts ago and has since finished third at that track before running well in good company at Canberra. 6. Agony Aunt scored a good win at Queanbeyan two starts ago before failing to fire there last time out. 5. Swift Enuff was a winner at Wagga two starts ago and is far from the worst here.
How to play it: Mikki Shima WIN.
Race 5 - 3:06PM FURPHY MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES) |
---|
7. Drunken Sailor is having his first race start here on the back of a trial placing at Warwick Farm. He kicks off his career over 1400m and has drawn to get the run of the race from the inside alley.
Dangers: 4. Legris is still a maiden after 15 starts but has shown enough ability in his career to be rated a chance in this. 3. Launch Mode has been placed in his latest three starts and must be respected here on the back of that form. 8. Prophet’s Magic has been placed in two of five starts and is not out of this.
How to play it: Drunken Sailor WIN
Race 6 - 3:46PM MARGARET KEENAN MEMORIAL BM66 HANDICAP (1180 METRES) |
---|
9. Toes In The Water had four starts in her initial preparation and won the last two of them before being spelled. She debuted with a sixth at Wagga before following a second at Canberra with a big win at that track and then at Nowra. She’s had a trial to prepare for this return.
Dangers: 2. Luna Rocks has shown plenty of ability in her career to date. She resumed with a second at Albury last time out and has the talent to run up to that if she’s at her best again here. 4. Kappy’s Angel was a winner at Wagga two starts ago and can figure again prominently again here with a repeat of that. 5. Super Sprocket has a good record with three wins and seven placings and is not out of this.
How to play it: Toes In The Water WIN.
Race 7 - 4:25PM HAHN SUPER DRY CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1400 METRES) |
---|
1. Suspect had three starts for Chris Waller before changing stables to the Mitchell Beer camp for who he has had three runs back from a spell. He broke his maiden at Albury last time out and is set to go on with the job from a good gate.
Dangers: 2. Wal’s Angels has won his latest two starts at Moruya and Albury. He’s in a good stable and has a good jockey aboard. He must be respected in this company. 4. Magnace comes into this on the back of a last start second at Orange and is worth plenty of thought again here. 8. News At Five has won his latest two starts and is racing well enough to give this a shake.
How to play it: Suspect WIN.
Race 8 - 5:03PM XXXX GOLD GUNDAGAI CUP (1800 METRES) |
---|
3. Cliff House has drawn wide but is a classy type which scored well when finishing strongly at Albury last time out. The step up in trip is ideal and he can overpower rivals again.
Dangers: 9. Kingston Charm has been racing in great form having won a Midway when hitting the line strongly two starts ago, then again running hone well to finish third at Rosehill last time out. 8. Offspring is a last start Wagga winner that warrants plenty of thought again here on the back of solid form either side of a spell. 5. Sea Of Flame is a last start winner at Orange and despite drawing wide he should figure in the thick of things here.
How to play it: Cliff House WIN.
