Selections based on a good track
Race 1 - 12:55PM MARK DONNELLY CONSTRUCTIONS MAIDEN PLATE (1100 METRES) |
---|
5. Feimazuo was placed in her first two starts at Orange and this track last October and then was spelled. She resumed at Wellington three weeks ago and started favourite when finishing second. She has solid form for a race like this.
Dangers: 1. Hot Extraction has finished fourth and second at his latest two starts at Orange and is knocking on the door for a win. 3. Wicked Testimony is on debut and won a recent Scone trial leading into this. 7. Monarcle is on debut and has had two trials leading into this.
How to play it: Feimazuo WIN.
Race 2 - 1:30PM MACQUARIE MEDI SPA MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
1. Lucky Star is on debut and is primed to run well on the back of a recent barrier trial victory at Hawkesbury. Lucky Star had another trial last October when down the track, and showed he has come back in good order with the Hawkesbury effort.
Dangers: 9. Gigi Fille hasn’t raced since tackling the Magic Millions Maiden but has had two trials leading into this return and warrants plenty of thought. 5. Ningaloo Reef ran at Wyong on Thursday when performing well and is worth including among the main chances again. 2. Namoi River improved when second at Bathurst last time out and is worth some thought.
How to play it: Lucky Star WIN.
Race 3 - 2:05PM TOOHEYS MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES) |
---|
9. Jawharat Dubai has a solid record with three placings from five starts and they have been from her latest three runs on the Kensington track, Hawkesbury and Kembla Grange. He’s drawn ideally in gate two here and this event looks made to order for her to break her maiden.
Dangers: 7. Taipan Legend performed well when placed at Hawkesbury three starts back, then followed a Gosford failure with an improved effort at Newcastle. 5. More Voltage has been placed in five of 14 starts and has minor claims again here. 3. Kiss The Outcast comes into this on the back of a Warren placing and is far from the worst.
How to play it: Jawharat Dubai WIN.
Race 4 - 2:40PM DON PEARCE TRIBUTE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES) |
---|
4. Roman Miss led them up and did the job well to score in maiden grade at Orange two starts ago. She followed that up with a solid enough fourth at Scone when she battled on fairly well. Mikayla Weir has been riding Roman Miss in her most recent runs and she retains the ride here.
Dangers: 1. Titan Star was a Canberra winner five starts ago and has since been placed twice at Orange and Canberra. He has the talent to give this a shake. 2. Xeiby hasn’t done much in three runs back from a spell but can improve here. 5. Successful resumed with a fourth at Orange and could show up here without surprising.
How to play it: Roman Miss WIN.
Race 5 - 3:20PM HOTHAMS SAND SOIL AND GRAVEL C1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1800 METRES) |
---|
9. Awtaar is an import in the Annabel Neasham stable that was placed over a shorter journey in the UK before coming to Australia. She had two trials in January and February before making her local debut with a seventh at Goulburn when leading. She followed that up with a fifth at Scone behind Super Story when not beaten far, and she’s racing as though this rise in distance will suit.
Dangers: 2. Bobby Shiraz didn’t do a lot in his first two runs back from a spell, but then showed improvement when a last start second at this track. He only needs to run up to that to be a factor in this. 4. Ruff ran well enough when second at Canberra when last produced and has the ability to figure prominently. 7. Platinum Asset followed a Newcastle placing with a last start Hawkesbury victory and she could go on with the job in this.
How to play it: Awtaar EACH WAY.
Race 6 - 3:59PM BATHURST PLUMBING AND GASFITTING BM58 HANDICAP (1400 METRES) |
---|
2. Star Legacy is resuming from a spell here and has shown talent in his career. He won a maiden in good style at Gosford last November, and then finished fourth at Kembla Grange before a second at Hawkesbury. He failed to fire in a couple more runs at Gosford and was then spelled. He’s had two trials to prepare for this return.
Dangers: 6. Russian Zarina hit the line well when midfield at Queanbeyan last time out and should be given plenty of thought here based on that effort. 7. Imperioness finished second at Muswellbrook at her latest start and is worth including among the main chances again, while 8. Invader’s Girl won well at Wellington when last produced and is worth thought again.
How to play it: Star Legacy WIN.
Race 7 - 4:33PM KENNARDS HIRE COUNTRY BOOSTED CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES) |
---|
1. Little Bit Flash had a win and two placings from her first three starts late last year. She resumed and ran well when fifth at Scone and should be better for that run.
Dangers: 2. Bulla Vinaka was a winner at Dubbo three starts ago and has since failed to fire at Dubbo and Mudgee. He can improve against these. 3. Tokyo Ice has been placed in her latest two runs at Nowra and Canberra and only needs to hold that form to be a good chance again here. 6. Poppy’s Girl finished fourth at this track last time out and is not out of this.
How to play it: Little Bit Flash WIN.
