Since establishing a new apprenticeship with the Annabel Neasham stable, this particular Jett is airborne into Sunday’s Nowra TAB meeting.
Jett Stanley that is, with 54 season wins and a likely increase combining again with emerging prospects for the multiple Group One-winning trainer, and opportunities with other high-profile stables.
Jett is the son of Brent Stanley who amazingly as a 17-year-old apprentice won the 1996 Caulfield Cup on Arctic Scent.
Jett rides four Neasham newcomers throughout the seven-race program at the popular Shoalhaven track.
The apprentice rode Neasham gallopers at the Kembla TAB meeting on Thursday, more into Gosford on Saturday then into the Nowra meeting.
“With all of that I haven’t been through the Nowra form thoroughly, but I’ve been on them and with this stable they’ll be in the right races,” Jett offered.
Significantly, Neasham’s debut two-year-old filly Hulu was scratched from Kembla for Nowra where Jett rides the Showtime protégé off successive priming trials into the Kel Campbell Fuel Haulage F&M’s Mdn, 1100m with 55.5kg and a vital inside barrier.
“Rode her in a trial, nice enough filly and off the trials fitness and experience, she’s drawn to run well," said Jett.
Three-year-old gelding Invasive contests the HQ Insurance Class 3, 1200m following an impressive recent Nowra win at 1000m and then had excuses with Goulburn failure from the extreme outside barrier.
“He was really strong winning at Nowra over 1000m, hard to do getting back at this track so out to 1200m looks ideal.
“Progressive three-year-old and yep I’d say last start was a forgive drawn out. He’ll turn up better this time for sure, drawn in could get over the top of them.”
Another three-year-old Turn Up the Night with Jett contests the Carpet Court Class 1 and Mdn 1600m along with stablemate Blagney.
“I haven’t ridden him in a race, but I’ve ridden him in work, drawn out but he goes alright.
“Won a Gosford maiden well enough first prep and he’s fitter for trials and racing and wasn’t beaten far in probably a stronger race at Newcastle.”
At present Nowra is a Good 4 in fine weather.
