With inclement weather conditions affecting race meetings on the north coast, the Port Macquarie Race Club has been rewarded with massive acceptances for the conclusion of their successful holiday racing period on Sunday.
Interline Race Day presents plenty of discussion points with great interest around the chances of two fillies from the Donna Grisedale stable in the shape of Casino Collection and Seymour Stars.
The prominent Coffs Harbour mentor starts the day with Casino Collection in the opening event and the daughter of Casino Prince debuts following an outstanding barrier trial win at the circuit last weekend when accounting for Cenotes by around six lengths.
That was an ideal preparation for her initial assignment and the acceleration displayed down the side of the track and over the concluding stages should ensure the filly will be at the head of discussions when assessing chances in the event.

Jett Newman partnered with Casino Collection for the trial and it is significant the promising young apprentice has been rewarded with the mount and her apprentice allowance provides further confidence.
Sweet Marlene has the racing experience following six placings from thirteen appearances and the mare deserves to break through with the appointment of Luke Rolls proving to be a plus as the jockey enjoys a wonderful run of success in recent times.
Angels Cloud is poised to improve on her recent second behind Sagaponack last start after racing erratically down the home running while any support for a first starter from the Wayne Wilkes yard in the shape of African Diamond should be considered.
The Grafton victory by Seymour Stars last November indicated the Donna Grisedale trained filly was well above average and makes a return to the track in the Interline Farewell Handicap following two successful barrier trials in preparation for the assignment.
The daughter of Cosmic Force was very impressive a fortnight ago when accounting for Witz End under trial conditions by just under four lengths and there will be great interest around competing against her more experienced rivals.
Success by one or more of Donna’s stable youngsters would provide great reward for the family after John Grisedale was recently injured at Grafton in a barrier mishap with all in racing wishing the well renowned jockey a speedy recovery.
Confederate Lady is a lightly raced filly from the Scott Henley stable and looks the obvious danger after a dominant win over Rustic Tzar at Ballina last November before being far from disgraced when a resuming third at the same circuit a fortnight ago after lumping a huge weight impost on heavy ground.
Other chances revolve around Egotistic from the Sally Taylor yard who has been extremely consistent, while Cool Fizz scored a narrow victory over Robarge at Taree last month and should also be considered.
Jean Van Overmeire is one of the leaders in the latest NSW Jockeys Premiership and his riding talents will be on display throughout the program with Sweet Bubbles heading discussions in the third event.
The prominent hoop links with the Gosford stable of Greg McFarlane for the engagement and Sweet Bubbles has bright prospects following maiden success at Tuncurry in March with a recent win at the Port circuit indicating the extra distance of Sunday’s engagement should suit.
His other major hope is Whispering Muriel in the penultimate race with the flashy chestnut mare having her second run from a break following a super maiden win at Port last December and will derive great benefit from a recent fifth at Scone behind Speedy Henry.
The Brett Cavanough and Braith Nock combination have strong chances spread throughout the well-balanced card while Rathoran has been a model of consistency following recent placings around the country areas and should be rewarded with victory in the final race.
It is great to welcome the staff and supporters of Interline to the complex and sincerely hope this fine local organisation have a great afternoon of thoroughbred action as the club acknowledges their wonderful sponsorship.
