Trackwork rider Dale Jeffries suffered a fall during trackwork at Parkes this morning (Thursday 20th June), when his mount bucked on entering the course.
Dale was transported to Orange Hospital and has suffered fractures to his pelvis, ribs and a punctured lung. Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth will liaise with the family for treatment.
[Update at 5pm on Thursday 20th June]: Dr. Duckworth reports that Dale is still in Orange Hospital and in a stable condition. Dale has a fractured pelvis that will heal without surgery and just needs bed rest. He also has three fractured ribs and a small pneumothorax. He will be having further chest X-rays later today to check whether he needs a chest tube or not.
