Jockey Matthew Palmer was dislodged from his mount My Diamond Boy at the 300m in Race 2 at Quirindi today.
Matthew has concussion and is suffering from pain to his right ribs. He has since been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital at Newcastle.
Update 7.50pm: Matthew is awake and conscious at John Hunter Hospital. He is awaiting further scans of his head. He may have dislocated his knee and injured his wrist.
Update 10.30am Friday: Matthew underwent CT scans last night and will have MRI scans at John Hunter Hospital today. He has a fractured wrist and other injuries to his knee, general bruising and soreness.
Update 1.30pm Monday: Matthew Palmer was discharged from John Hunter hospital yesterday. His CT scans were clear and he is now at home managing pain from his fractured wrist and ankle. He may require further treatment or surgery on his wrist once the swelling goes down.
