Jockey Jeff Penza was involved in a race fall when four riders were dislodged at around the 500m at Taree on Sunday (29th October).
Jeff had back pain and was transported via ambulance to hospital.
[Update at 8pm on Friday]: Jeff has been discharged from hospital to continue his recovery at home.
[Update at 9am on Thursday]: Jeff will be discharged on Friday and will possibly be transferred to a more local Sydney hospital to continue his treatment.
[Update at 3pm on Tuesday]: Jeff is now out of ICU and his chest tube will be removed tomorrow.
[Update at 9am on Tuesday]: Jeff Penza remains in ICU with rib fractures. He had a tube inserted into his chest to help drain fluid from around his lungs and it is hopeful this may be removed today.
[Update at 8pm on Sunday]: Jeff has fractured ribs, an injury to his lung and concussion. He will be admitted to ICU overnight.
