Jockeys Kayla Nisbet and Brendan Ward were dislodged from their mounts following an incident at the 600 metres in Race 2 at Sapphire Coast on Saturday.
Kayla escaped any injuries and walked back to the enclosure.
Brendan sustained a cut close to his left eye and some pain to both legs. He was taken to hospital for further examination.
[Update at 4:10pm on Sunday]: Further scans have revealed Brendan has fractured his right knee and will be in a brace for 4 to 6 weeks. He will need to see a specialist in Canberra.
[Update at 9am on Sunday]: Brendan's scans were clear. He stayed in hospital overnight for observation and will be discharged today.
