Champion regional jockey Greg Ryan has stood down from riding at Wellington races this Sunday due to injury.
Ryan fell from Never Tardy in Race 3 at Gilgandra last weekend (Sunday, 7th January) when his mount bucked shortly after the start, dislodging Ryan.
Ryan sustained an injury to his left arm, shoulder and general soreness but showed his determination to win a 10th Gilgandra Cup on Cameron Crockett’s Artistic Beauty later on the program.
“Greg is still in a fair bit of pain in his left shoulder, so we’re going for x-rays today. We're hoping there’s nothing structural or more serious,” said Greg’s wife and agent, Pauline.
