Injured Jockey Update - Brendan Ward

Jockey Brendan Ward was dislodged from his mount during a jumpout at Thoroughbred Park on Wednesday, 20th December 2017.

Initially Brendan did not think he was injured and went on to ride at the Wagga Riverside meeting two days later. However after experiencing some discomfort he underwent x-rays which revealed a fracture in his hip.

Brendan has since undergone surgery to have a rod and screws implanted in his hip. He is expected to be out of the saddle for three months while he recovers.

Despite the disappointing injury, Brendan is in good spirits while resting at home with his family.
