Jockey Belinda Hodder was dislodged from her mount while riding trackwork for trainer Paul Shailer at Port Macquarie on the morning of Wednesday 19th April. Belinda was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to Sydney.
[Update 1pm on Friday 28th April]: Belinda was discharged from hospital yesterday and feels a lot better since coming home, her pain is manageable and she is slowly walking around at home.
[Update 10am on Saturday 22nd April]: Belinda's surgery went well. She is in a lot of pain but if things continue to improve she may be discharged home over the next week.
[Update 9am on Friday 21st April]: Belinda will be having spinal surgery today to stabilize her L1 fracture.
[Update 7.30pm on Wednesday 19th April]: Belinda has a burst fracture of her L1 vertebra and will be transferred to Sydney, likely tomorrow, for ongoing care under Dr Andrew Cree.
