Home Track Advantage An Extra Boost For Bellamy (Coffs Harbour Sunday)

By John Schell

Local trainer Brett Bellamy has high hopes he is in for a big day at Coffs Harbour on Sunday.

Bellamy has a number of leading chances in most races and thinks he has plenty of top contenders.

“Extra Manners is going around in the first race and he has trialled nice,'' he said.

“He hasn’t drawn really special but I’m expecting a forward showing.”

Bellamy has Extra Manners, Very Vogue and Boambee Beach in the Insurance Advisernet 2&3YO Maiden Plate (800m).

La Cache A Vin and The Budster will represent Bellamy in The Glenn Family 3YO & Up Maiden Plate (1000m).

“La Cache A Vin can be honest without getting over the line first. We’ve had a bit of rain up here and I’ve done as much work as I can give them despite the rain.

“A bold showing is on the cards.”

Bellamy has Forward Flight and Sweet Sonoma in the O’Brien Plumbing & Relining Coffs Harbour North Country Boosted Maiden Handicap (1300m), while La Quinta Donna is in the J&K Jarvis Racing Pink Silks – F&M Benchmark 58 Handicap (1300m).

“La Quinta Donna has been racing really well since I’ve had her,” said Bellamy.

“It’s nice to see her run again with my daughter. It’s a family affair.

“She has a nice barrier and Courtney [Bellamy] claiming the 2 kilos that really helps.”

Bellamy has Mr Tabasco, Fun Enuff and Time And Rhythm Key Community Group C,G&E Benchmark 58 Handicap (1300m).

Boncassie is in The Bayrange Group Wayne Glenn Pink Silks Cup (1200m) and he said “I think she’ll look the winner at some stage”.

Ashim and Ponte Vecchio in the Komatsu Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1600m) and the trainer says they’sll both perform well.

“They’ve been racing well,” said Bellamy.

“Ashim ran a super race here in the 1300m and that was a bit short for him, he has plenty of weight but he deserves it.

“They’ve both run well at their latest stars and it would be a shock if they both didn’t race well again.

“Ashim is an import that has raced well since he arrived here and he is worth plenty of thought.”
