ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 7 # 11 – OUR ANCHORAGE
He is flying this preparation, winning three in a row, and returned a career-peak figure last start at Rosehill when bolting in over the 2000m. The gelding had every chance but sprinted hard, producing a high-rating last section relative to the day. His past profile/pattern suggests he will hold his form deep into a campaign, and repeating his last start figure will make him hard to catch. Additionally, he maps well and drops 6.5kg, enhancing his acceleration and closing speed.
ROSEHILL GARDENS – NEXT BEST: Race 10 # 9 – AUSTMARR
She profiles to improve sharply second-up, and everything about her first-up performance suggests she will bounce off that performance. The mare was a drifter in the betting late in the trade and was outsprinted whilst racing in the inferior ground. To her credit, she built momentum and her final few bounds/work past the post had merit. Historically, the four-year-old goes to a new level second-up and is much more suited out to 1100m from the inside gate.

ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 6 # 3 – WODETON
The $1.6M colt was ultra-impressive on debut, and his late sectionals were full of merit. The Chris Waller-trained galloper raced wide with cover, and when produced in the straight, he produced a sharp turn of foot. Although getting to the best ground and having first use, he clocked a 10.62 between the 400m-200m and ran the meeting fastest final 400m/200m splits. He’s trialled well between runs and looks to have improved his manners. Further, he has a tricky draw but will be hitting the line hard.
LISMORE SATURDAY – COUNTRY PICK: Race 5 # 3 – LABARNA
He is ready to break through for his maiden win, and his last start effort was solid in a high-rating race. The gelding was chasing from a long way out but kept building momentum and hit the line hard, clocking a solid final 200m split. Further, he tried hard to finish second, and the margin to third confirmed the quality. He draws well, allowing him to settle in a striking position and Shae Wilkes sticks.
