Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor and/or the Racecourse & Facilities Manager, this permanent full-time position is required for trackwork supervision 6-7 days/fortnight, and the performance of facilities and/or racecourse general duties as directed.
The position will be subject to a 2-week roster providing for 76 hours a fortnight, with occasional work on weekends and pre-dawn starts for trackwork supervision requirements.
Duties:
Include but not limited to:
• Safely supervise the Scone Race Club’s trackwork activities.
• Ensure compliance by Trainers, Trackwork riders, stable hands, etc with all Racing NSW and Scone Race Club regulations.
• Conduct pre-track work inspection on all training surfaces. All training surfaces and walkways must be sighted and checked for damage or possible hazards. i.e.: irrigation blowouts, broken rails, livestock, rubbish etc. Running repairs conducted or items cleared from track.
• Ensure all falls and injuries on the Scone Race Club grounds are dealt with appropriately according to the Incident Response/Emergency Procedure instructions.
• To perform general duties as directed supporting the care and maintenance of the Scone Race Club’s Facilities.
• To perform general duties as directed supporting the care and maintenance of the Scone Race Club’s Racecourse.
Skills:
Include but not limited to:
• Maintenance & repair skills and experience
• Ability to perform relevant First Aid and care to participants and or staff.
• Identify and report potential improvement ideas and cost saving areas.
• Work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
• Work flexible working hours including weekends/public holidays as required.
• Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills for the purpose of report writing.
