Employment Opportunity: Secretary/Manager (Gunnedah Jockey Club)

Gunnedah Jockey Club is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as Secretary/Manager.

Reporting directly to the Gunnedah Jockey Club Committee, the successful candidate will oversee the management of the Club, including all racing and training activities, events, and functions.

This role requires strong organisational leadership, problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to ensuring the smooth and safe operation of race meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Exceptional organisation, communication and public relation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• A positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach
• Able to work autonomously and be proactive
• Oversee raceday logistics and implement a comprehensive raceday checklist
• Preferred: Industry knowledge, though not mandatory

Additional Duties

• Manage various communication channels including social media, email and phone
• Handle race meeting enquiries and bookings, ensuring exceptional service to stakeholders, members and racegoers

Position Details

• Part-time position
• Weekend availability required to facilitate race meetings
• Gunnedah Jockey Club conducts eight race meetings annually
