Employment Opportunity - Racecourse Manager / Curator (Casino)

Casino Racing Club, situated on the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, will soon be opening a new state-of-the art 80-racehorse stabling complex in a flood free location, including a 50m equine pool, horse walkers, 2 large sand yards, and renovated training tracks (sand and grass).

This complex will be open for applications to stable and train in the coming weeks.

This will give great opportunity for trainers to access racing in the local area (NRRA), but also being central to access Metropolitan tracks on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and down south to Sydney.

We envisage Casino becoming a thriving Thoroughbred training hub, encouraging new trainers to the area with the extensive array of improved facilities.

Casino Racing Club currently conducts four race meetings per year and expects that this number will increase with the ability to accommodate transferred race meetings, if local clubs are washed out or are unable to race. There will also be the ability to conduct official trials or jump outs when required.

We are looking for the services of a proactive and energetic Track Curator/Manager to work in our small team.

The Racecourse Manager will manage and maintain the racetrack, training facilities and course grounds to a high standard in line with Racing NSW Industry Standards.

This includes the ongoing maintenance of the course proper, training track, stable complex, grounds, Toro irrigation system, machinery and equipment at Casino Racing Club.

The successful applicant will be instrumental in ensuring the racecourse is presented in the best possible condition and will suit an experienced person who is passionate about track maintenance (sand and turf). You will be required to work as part of the management team and assist in the preparation and co-ordination of feature events.

Making recommendations on improvements or innovations relating to track maintenance, grounds, training and stable operations will be welcomed.

This role is a full-time position. The successful applicant will have:

• Experience in horticulture or green keeping
• Excellent Team Leader and Communication Skills
• Smart Train AQF3 chemical application or an equivalent accreditation
• Knowledge in Toro Irrigation systems would be an advantage
• A current driver’s licence

If you are a reliable, professionally presented person with quality communication skills, a great work ethic and want to be part of a growing race club, we would like to hear from you!
