Assistant Racecourse Manager (Albury) - Position Description

A wonderful opportunity to apply your experience and knowledge of racetrack maintenance at Albury Racing Club.

Holding approximately 18 race meetings annually including the prestigious two-day Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Carnival, Albury Racing Club is well supported by local trainers, key stakeholders, and the region’s growing business and general population.

Reporting to the Racecourse Manager, duties and responsibilities include:

• Assist in preparing and maintaining racecourse and training facilities in line with Racing NSW Industry Standards
• Assisting the Racecourse Manager to plan out track and maintenance programs
• When the Racecourse Manager is unavailable, manage the trackwork and grounds full time and casual staff
• Effective communication and relationships with stakeholders and staff
• Maintaining and adhere to WHS practices and procedures
• Machine and Equipment Operation and Maintenance
• Maintenance and Servicing of irrigation and water supply systems
• Ensure the grounds and facilities are presented and maintained at a high standard not just the track facilities
• Share and contribute to the Club’s short and long term strategic plans

The successful applicant would ideally possess:

• Qualifications in an appropriate turf management discipline
• Knowledge of all turf maintenance requirements
• Ability to operate required machinery including turf maintenance equipment
• Working knowledge of machinery and ability to undertake general maintenance requirements
• Chemical spraying certificates
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Ability to effectively communicate with industry participants and key stakeholders

Salary
This is a full-time salary position including working some, before and after hours, weekends and public holidays.

The salary will be negotiated based on experience.
