Greig Finishes With A Flurry (Back O'Bourke Picnics)

Leading picnics trainer Connie Greig has finished with a rush by snaring the quinella in the final two events at Sunday's Back O'Bourke picnic races.

Greig prepared Linden Tree to win the feature, the Splashe Cola Rice's Back O'Bourke Cordials Harry Hart Memorial Picnic Cup (1600m) with Leandro Ribeiro aboard.

The $2.60 favourite defeated stablemate Kalpana (Izzy Neale, $4.60) by a length with Frau Holle (Ricky Blewitt, $10) in third spot.

Greig then trained 1-2 in the last race when Pahang (Izzy Neale, $3.20) beat Individualist (Leandro Ribeiro, $2.50 fav) by a long neck with Are You Certain (Michael Gray, $6) a further six lengths away third.

Linden Tree is now a tearaway leader in the point score for the 2024 NSW Picnic Champion Series with 40 points followed by Have Mercy (28 points), Blinkin Nomore (25pts) and California August & Final Showdown (24pts).

The next chance to earn points will be at COOTAMUNDRA PICNICS on Saturday (6th April).
