Dubbo Winners - Tips For Wednesday 21st August

Tips by Jack Webster for Wednesdays Dubbo meeting. Selections based on a Heavy track.

Race 1 - 12:30PM EZYQUIP HIRE MAIDEN PLATE (1000 METRES)

5. Lots Of Fiddees is racing on her home track and has been showing signs of improvement in her last couple since being freshened. She was runner up here three runs prior on a heavy track over 1020m. Fitter for the one-week turnaround and draws a good barrier here. Can deliver a strong performance today.

Dangers: 1. Lanwar has had three starts for one placing so far, with that placing being second up at Narromine on similar track conditions over 1100m. He’ll look to improve going into this one and can repeat that effort here. 4. Keep Ya Promise been progressing in her previous showings and should be kept in the mix. 8. Typhoon Romance is second up and has the chance to improve moving into this race.

How to play it: Lots Of Fiddees WIN ($2.60 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 2 - 1:04PM DESSPOS SOLUTIONS BM 58 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

1. Zounile comes off a win here last start in a similar race, leading throughout and withstanding pressure in the final stretch to secure victory. She draws the rail and enters this race fit off a quick one-week turnaround. Looking to build on that performance and be a main threat again here.

Dangers: 5. Hot Gospel was unlucky last start at Moree not getting the run that was needed at a crucial stage of the race. Racing on her home track where she’s done some of her best work, including a win here the race prior over the same distance on a heavy track. Positive race setup and looks to a key player in this race. 6. Amantaka won last start at Forbes and placed here over a similar distance and under similar track conditions in the prior race. He has put up some respectable performances and certainly should be included in the mix here. 4. Never Bird is third up here, and her only win has come at this distance. She’s race fit and handles a wet track well. One to consider.

How to play it: Zounile WIN ($3.20 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 3 - 1:39PM PRECISION HEALTH CARE MAIDEN PLATE (1200 METRES)

3. Egyptologist, formerly trained by John O’Shea, delivered impressive performances last campaign, with two placings from three runs. He’s resuming here and comes off a trial win earlier this month over 1000m, where he put in an impressive run from the rear of the field. The drop in distance should suit him, and he looks a threat to strike first up.

Dangers: 5. Bling Empire has delivered some handy performances since her stable change. She battled home last start here with a decent task set for her from a wide position coming off the turn. She has been just behind the placings in two of her last three runs here, including a prior race where she didn’t seem to handle the distance. Now back to a distance that suits, she can show up today. 11. Rebel Love is showing signs of improvement in her recent form just being outside the placings here last start. Gets another chance here today. 8. Clever Cookie gave some impressive performances at Canberra in her first campaign, but form has tapered off since. Will look to improve going forward.

How to play it: Eygptologist WIN ($2.20 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 4 - 2:14PM AQUAWEST BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

1. Big Shot Legend, formerly trained by Chris Waller, will be looking to make it three in a row here, coming off two impressive wins, including a noteworthy run last start at Forbes where he tracked well in the final stretch and handled the pressure to finish strong. He’s been tested at the city level in the past and should be right in the finish here.

Dangers: 6. Barry The Poet won his maiden here over this distance last prep and has put up two solid runs since resuming. He made late ground here last start after seemingly leaving his run too late. Now third up, he returns to a distance that suits, draws an inside gate, and is race fitter for the one-week turnaround. 7. High Charge won his maiden here last start and will be looking to repeat that performance after a one-week turnaround. He will need to overcome the challenge posed by the wide barrier this time up. 5. Toongi Bound is showing sharp improvements in his last two starts and has potential to deliver a strong performance here.

How to play it: Big Shot Legend WIN ($8.00 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 5 - 2:49PM ELITE SAND & SOIL/MINERAL MAGIC MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES)

3. Gigaton went close when runner up here last start being just bested in the final strides of the race beating the rest of the field easily. Gets another chance here today in a similar race and should go close again.

Dangers: 12. Way To Devine was previously trained by Bjorn Baker and has been tested at city level. She gave a good account of herself with a placing here when resuming last campaign but has struggled since. The inside barrier draw and wetter track both work in her favour here. Worth considering. 1. A Merry Monarch finished second at Bathurst when last produced and can naturally improve here today. Race fit and can be in the fishers here. 14. Ritarachele is on debut and has been trialling well in the lead up. Can make in an impact first up here.

How to play it: Gigaton WIN ($2.00 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 6 - 3:24PM EVERGREEN TURF BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

1. Pyromania has been threatening to strike at this track for the previous three runs here with two narrow seconds and a third. Similar race tactics will most likely be applied and no reason she won’t go close here again.

Dangers: 9. Loud has been just outside the placings her previous two efforts here but has been indicating signs of improvement in recent form. Can make an impact in this race. 10. Bobby’s Secret ran home well last start at Bathurst to finish just behind the trifecta but put up a respectable performance in a strong on speed win at Cowra in the race prior. Tougher race here but can go close. 2. Redneck Rum is race fit and can improve here.

How to play it: Pyromania WIN ($3.50 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 7 - 4:35PM SINCLAIR RACING CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

9. Warrior Princess had a comfortable victory over the field last showing at Bathurst over 1400m. Her best work so far has been done on wet tracks previously and draws an inside barrier to help her cause. Can roll off her previous effort and put

Dangers: 3. Press Forward has been in the placings he’s last three starts with two of those coming from this track. Well worth including among main chances here. 2. Boongarra Girl put up a decent performance with a placing at Bathurst first up and shown to handle wet tracks previously. 2kg claim activated and an inside barrier work in her favour. 13. Toongi Bound was on speed last showing at Forbes but eventually run down in the dying stages of the race to finish second. Has a chance to redeem here.

How to play it: Warrior Princess WIN ($8.00 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 8 - 4:34PM DUBBO CITY & GILGANDRA TOYOTA DUBBO GOLD CUP DAY 29 SEPTEMBER BM58 (1000 METRES)

2. Minnewater has been threating to strike this campaign finishing runner up in all four starts since resuming. Gets an inside barrier here and does he best work on wet tracks in the past. Will benefit from the 3kg apprentice claim. No reason he won’t go close again.

Dangers: 12. Ultra White has put some respectable performances since being let up. Resuming and can show up here. 3. Rebel Dreamer is first up and returning to the country level after challenging at the city level previously. In the mix. 1. Bravezel is resuming and looking to return to previous form prior.

How to play it: Minnewater WIN ($2.40 TAB Fixed Odds).

Race 9 - 5:09PM MACQUARIE HOME STAY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

1. Keep on Going is racing at his home track, where he performs best, with three wins and four placings from his eight starts here. Last campaign, he recorded two second placings and a win over similar distances before struggling in a tougher race at Rosehill prior to his spell. He’s been trialling well in the lead-up to this race, with a trial win and a trial placing earlier this month. He should give a good account fresh.

6. Cumboogle comes off a win last showing at Warren last month with a solid performance to withstand pressure and hit the line well. Can ride off that performance going into this one. Easier race here and can show out.4. Obsessive Nature has had impressive form of late is among the dangers here. 13. Gypsy Power, formerly trained and tested on the Brisbane circuit, has shown improvement since a stable change, with an impressive second place when resuming at Gilgandra earlier this month. Has potential to sharpen up here.

How to play it: Keep On Going WIN ($6.00 TAB Fixed Odds).
