In a first for the Dubbo community, Lifeline Central West and the City of Dubbo Turf Club are coming together to hold an afternoon of horse racing, fun and entertainment at the Dubbo Turf Club on Sunday 4th February.
Supported by the Black Dog Ride, the Blue Elephant program for Rugby Union, Group 11 Rugby league, Racing Mates and Headspace, the afternoon is about men of all ages (and of course, their female friends and partners) enjoying an 8 race program at the Dubbo race course.
All bar and food outlets will be open for the afternoon as will the usual on course betting facilities.
Entry will be way of 3 separate streams;
1. As a member of one of the organisations listed above, entry will be by a donation to Lifeline Dubbo
2. General Entry $10
3. Concessional $5
Through the generosity of the City of Dubbo Turf Club, this “Boys Day Out” event is designed to reach out to the community of Dubbo and beyond in an attempt to shine a light on the issues associated with mental health and related problems in the community - areas in which men and boys are statistically overly represented.
So come along with your mates, family and friends, check out some great Boys Toys and have a cracking good afternoon and remember, if you are struggling with an issue, have a chat to someone. Club mates, professionals, organisations, anyone you are comfortable with, but don’t travel this road alone. If there’s no-one, call Lifeline 13 11 14.
