Damon Budler Breaks Through For Initial Rising Star Victory

Damon Budler has scored his first Rising Star Series win for the season after taking out Heat 9 at Queanbeyan on Monday (17th January).
Budler took victory with Roman Candle ($3.40 favourite) for trainer Nick Olive, defeating Molly Bourke on Samindi ($6) by a length and a half with Jenny Duggan third (Shecago, $6).
Bailey Wheeler maintains the Rising Series lead boasting 18 points, sitting clear of Jenny Duggan (15pts) and Amy McLucas (12pts).
Heat 10 will be run at Port Macquarie on Friday 21st January.
Goulburn will host the last of 16 heats on Monday 21st February.
