Cherry Street Joins Ballina Jockey Club As Cup Sponsor

The Ballina Jockey Club is excited to announce a new sponsor for the Ballina Cup, connecting with the Cherry Street Sports Group as the naming rights partner of the $65,000 Ballina Cup, to be run on Friday, January 13, 2023.

Club Chairman David Daniel said: “The Cherry Street Sports Group are an excellent local organisation with connections in both Ballina and Lennox Head, where they are well known for their community support, as well as their family-friendly hospitality. We see a lot of synergy between our businesses, and we are proud to form what we hope will be a long-term relationship.”

Cherry Street Sports Group General Manager Tere Sheean said: “Cherry Street Sports Group is excited to have the opportunity of sponsoring the Ballina Cup. We have a large local membership and look forward to building value into their support of our Clubs, the Cherry Street Sports and Club Lennox Sports. We are particularly excited to work collaboratively with the Ballina Jockey Club in a variety of ways in a bid to help bring economic growth to the region. The Ballina Cup is an iconic annual community event with over 100 years of local history."

Ballina Jockey Club General Manager Matthew Bertram added: “The Cherry Street Sports Group are a dynamic and progressive Club organisation who are growing at an exponential rate. We are excited to join forces to provide entertainment to our members and the greater Northern Rivers communities. We will commence with the Cherry Street Sports Group Ballina Cup this January 2023, and we have plans for many more events to follow.

“Both Clubs value their members and community and look forward to partnering in ways that will promote the region. Ballina and Lennox Head are already two of NSW most sought-after tourist destinations. We look forward to showcasing more of what makes this region so popular.”

The celebrations start on Cup Eve with the Cherry Street Sports Group Ballina Cup Calcutta - to be held at Cherry Street Sports in Ballina, from 7 pm on Thursday, January 12.
