Casino Winners - Tips For Friday 28th May

By Brad Gray

Tips and race by race preview by Brad Gray for Casino.

Race 1 - 11:35AM PARKER & KISSANE SOLICITORS 2YO HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

4. Waltz already has a win to her name and has bumped into Stakes winner Miss Hipstar in her two other starts. She was beaten a long way but it still reads well for this.

Dangers: 8. Selling Sunset kept closing when fourth at Grafton last start. That fitness edge will play a role in this and her breeding suggests 1200m suits now. Very short at odds on though.

How to play it: Waltz WIN ($3.10 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: EVENS

Race 2 - 12:10PM JUST BRAKES & EXHAUSTS CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

1. Our Echo worked to the line well over 1200m at Ipswich first up in a manner that he needs 1400m to add a third win to his tally. Gets that here, draws well and finds a winnable race.

Dangers: 3. Bombay Nights will still find this trip a touch short but her first up run was better than it reads on paper tracking up the inside of the heavy track.

How to play it: Our Echo WIN ($3.20 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 3 - 12:45PM L J HOOKER CASINO CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (1900 METRES)

Like the way 1. Alludere has closed off over the mile at Ipswich at her last two outings, both for a new stable. The latest of those was in Class 2 company. Well placed here.

Dangers: 4. Shotgun Bobby broke his maiden in style last start at Ipswich from a long way back. Can go on with it now. 7. Rahaan has strong claims too.

How to play it: Alludere WIN ($4.60 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 4 - 1:20PM WAL'S CONCRETING MAIDEN PLATE (1200 METRES)

6. Catch A Thought made a mess of the start on debut before spearing to the line late. Was tipped straight out thereafter and love the way she trialled this time back. Looks the winner.

Dangers: 15. Allied Command is the unknown in the race. Was heavily supported at Ipswich in October last year on debut but finished closer to last than fast. Big watch after two trials and with a new trainer.

How to play it: Catch A Thought WIN ($2.20 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 5 - 1:55PM NORTHERN RIVERS CONCRETING MAIDEN HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

1. Crown War has three placings from her last three starts and is knocking on the door to knock off her maiden. Makes her own luck and finds another winnable race.

Dangers: 7. Percontation is another one here with a string of consistent performances. Was a beaten odds on favourite two starts back. 6. Deemed produced a PB last start.

How to play it: Crown War WIN ($2.90 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: ODDS

Race 6 - 2:35PM CASINO FOOD CO OP CASINO FLYING (1000 METRES)

8. In A Step is a short course specialist and drawn inside of 1. Bugalugs should see her find the front. Chased home Tallis at Grafton last start.

Dangers: Bugalugs is a beauty, winning six of his latest 13 starts and from 1000m out to 1400m. Hard to knock. 4. Buffy is an interesting runner for Jenny Graham. Her first start for the stable and has trialled super.

How to play it: In A Step WIN ($6 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 7 - 3:10PM STEVE RYAN BUILDER JOCKEYS ROOMS RENOVATIONS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

2. Titration swooped on his rivals to win at Grafton last start. That was start number three so as the most lightly-raced horse in the field, has scope to go on with it. This isn't a deep race.

Dangers: 9. King Farouk took 14 starts to crack his maiden but he did it in style last start at Lismore justifying his odds on quote.

How to play it: Titration WIN ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 8 - 3:50PM CASINO RSM CLUB BEEF WEEK CUP (1400 METRES)

2. Chamisal did enough first up at the provincials and is 3:1-1-0 second up so expect sharp improvement. Draws the inside and was flying at the backend of last preparation.

Dangers: 5. Potro Duro has struggled to beat a runner home at his last four outings but the grey drops back in grade for this. Surprised how well found he is, however.

How to play it: Chamisal WIN ($9.50 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT

Race 9 - 4:25PM HOTEL CECIL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

4. Flying Pretty is eight weeks between runs but her two wins for Paul Smith have been sensational. If she rolls into Casino in that form, she’ll win again. Smart mare.

Dangers 5. Le Figaro has the talent to go through the grades but fails to put races away. Rarely runs poorly, however. Monitor market confidence first up off two trials.

How to play it: Flying Pretty WIN ($2.80 TAB Fixed Odds) Odds & Evens: SPLIT
