It's a huge afternoon this Saturday for BOWRAVILLE, a small town on the north coast of NSW known for tourism with attractions including a folk museum, war museum, historic theatre and other historic buildings.
“Nambucca River Jockey Club is pleased to confirm that after some recent washouts, the Bowra Hotel Bowraville Cup will be run at Bowraville Racecourse next Saturday,” said the club’s secretary, Geoff Harris.
“The meeting is a seven-race TAB Sky 2 program with $130,000 in prizemoney including two feature races.
“The Bowra Hotel is our main sponsor and their continuing support along with XXXX Gold contribute significantly to the ongoing success of the club.
“Our track has a new running rail and good grass cover and will be in excellent condition for racing.
“All amenities will be operating on the day including food outlets, bars, TAB facilities and bookmakers on-course with corporate hospitality packages also available.
“Free bus travel is available to and from the course with buses running from Valla Beach, Nambucca Heads, Stuarts Point, Scott’s Head and Macksville.
“This is one of the great days out in the Nambucca Valley with many patrons in attendance, and Bowraville Racecourse is located in one of the most picturesque settings in country NSW.”
Camp Rifle won last year’s Bowraville Cup and three starts later captured the Kempsey Cup.
Also on Saturday is the big Aggies Raceday at WAGGA with the Fashions on the Field offering prizes for Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Man and Best Dressed Millinery.
