Bowraville, in the centre of the Nambucca Valley, is commonly known as the 'Verandah Post Town’ with the main street lined with veranda-shaded footpaths, cafes, museums and art galleries.
It's also home to Nambucca River Jockey Club who hosts Bowra Hotel Bowraville Cup Day on Saturday with a big day planned and hospitality on offer in the Sponsors Pavilion and a Fashions in the Field.
“We’ve put in a lot of work getting this meeting going and presenting the course in top order – I like to say racing is the fun part; it’s the reward of all the hard work,” said Trevor Wood, secretary of Nambucca River Jockey Club.
“We’ll have free buses from Valla Beach, Nambucca Heads, Stuarts Point, Scotts Head & Macksville.”
NOTE: Geurie races on Saturday have been abandoned due to insufficient acceptances.
