Shoalhaven City Turf Club was successful in obtaining funding from the NSW State Government as part of the Government's Back to the Track grant funding and will be using part of the funding to host a Senior's Race Day on Monday 25 February.
Coinciding with the end of Senior's Week the Club, it is a great opportunity to offer seniors and their guests a day at the races for a reasonable cost.
The Club is offering entry, racebook, complimentary beverage on arrival, two-course lunch with afternoon tea, guest speakers and lots of prizes throughout the day along with the chance to experience a fantastic day at the races.
Due to the funding, the cost to attend is just $10 per person whereby patrons will sit in air-conditioned comfort in the Club's fully accessible dining room.
The NSW Government’s Back to the Track Regional Racing Grant was focused on building stronger links with local communities and provided funding for projects, events and programs that build and enhance connections with existing communities and foster new and stronger connections with regional communities.
The idea was to put together new raceday events across the state with the financial support of the NSW Government through this grant.
"Rather than invest in just one raceday, Shoalhaven City Turf Club decided to use the funding to host a range of events to encourage all ages and demographics to the races. The Senior's raceday is the first on our list due to the timing of Senior's week," said SCTC's CEO Lynn Locke.
"We have some great other initiatives planned for the future and we could not have offered this wonderful opportunity to our community without the assistance from the NSW Government's Back to the Track funding."
Tickets are still available for anyone wishing to attend. Please contact the Club on (02) 4421 4550 or email ceo@sctcnowra.com.au
