Please note jockeys Michael Hackett, Ricky Blewitt and Michael Gray were dislodged from their mounts after an incident during race 2 at Tomingley picnics on Saturday, 27th April 2019.
Following are the latest updates:-
Michael Hackett was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition with head injuries.
[Update at 8:30am on Tuesday 30th April]: Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth reports that Michael had his sedation slowly decreased yesterday afternoon. The doctors are now slowly trying to wake him up with commands and Michael has now opened his eyes a couple of time to command. He remains in ICU under observation at Liverpool Hospital.
[Update at 10:30am on Monday 29th April]: Michael remains stable in an induced coma at Liverpool Hospital, with family by his side.
Ricky Blewitt stayed overnight in Westmead Hospital for observation.
[Update at 10:30am on Monday 29th April]: Ricky has stable in-displaced thoracic spine fractures requiring rest for six weeks to heal. He also has a scapula fracture that will be treated with a sling and a rib fracture that requires rest and conservative management.
Michael Gray was transported to Dubbo Hospital.
[Update at 10:30am on Monday 29th April]: Racing NSW's Dr. Duckworth reports that Michael is having an MRI scan on his cervical spine today. If it is clear, he will be discharged from hospital today or tomorrow. Michael Has a fractured clavicle that requires surgery and Dr. Duckworth will be fixing it on Wednesday. He also has a wrist fracture that will be treated in a splint and a thoracic spine fracture that just requires rest.
