Coonamble's Cannonball Prepares To Fire On Sunday

The sheep, cattle and wheat town of Coonamble is gearing up for a big eight-race Country Showcase meeting this Sunday that carries $255,000 in prizemoney.

"We are expecting a decent crowd with a Fashions on the Field contest one of the many highlights," said Ana Robson, secretary of Coonamble Jockey Club.

"The early fields look great and we're pleased to have a list of local companies supporting us for this race meeting, some of which are connecting to Coonamble Jockey Club for the first time.

"Our main sponsor is Nutrien Ag Solutions along with local companies Coonamble Panel & Paint and Swanny's Foods."

The race card features the $35,000 Showcase Coonamble Cannonball (1100m) and two $35,000 Country Boosted Showcase races. Visit - Coonamble Jockey Club
