Connie Greig Represented By Large Team At Warren (Mon)

Accomplished trainer Connie Greig, currently the queen of the NSW picnic circuit, is just as productive at TAB meetings and her large team contends at a capacity Warren meeting on Monday after Saturday’s big Wean raceday.

Dubbo’s Greig has value chances throughout Warren’s seven-race TAB program with unprecedented emergencies as regional trainers strive to secure a run after numerous washouts interrupted race programming.

Connie’s leading Picnic Championships point scorer Valadyium, a seven-race winner, is having a let-up since winning at the Cobar picnic meeting in May.

Connie’s dual acceptors at both meets have been finalised.

At Warren, she has value prospects to be ridden by regular stable riders, 3.5kg claiming apprentice Jake Barrett and Jake Pracey-Holmes.

Barrett, apprenticed to Brett Robb, was previously with Waterhouse-Bott Sydney stables and Kim Waugh at Wyong.

He’s value riding former Waugh maiden winner Deel Street in the Dwyer Transport, IOR Rural Class 1 and Maiden (1600m).

A Wyong placing and fourth at Newcastle in harder races is solid form for this and the mare is fitter for two runs since a spell for Connie. Similarly, Yorker in the Gordon Welsh Pty, Ltd Maiden (1000m) has six placings, the past two at Dubbo and Warren.

In-form Dubbo neighbours Clint Lundholm and Brett Robb have compelling credentials and numbers throughout the day.

“We’ve copped some bad weather and lost meetings that’s why I was surprised so many scratchings at Tamworth, but I’ve got live chances at Warren,” Lundholm offers.

“My best are The Big Seal and Beauchamp. The Big Seal just keeps finding one better, but five seconds from his six starts says how honest and genuine he is, drawn in the right race, handles all going.”

Importantly in a capacity third-event maiden the three-year-old gelding races on-pace.

Beauchamp is significantly back in grade with a claim off a massive 65.5kg in the Warren RSL, BM 66 (1000m) after contesting the recent prestige Coonamble Cannonball.

“Still reasonably in with the maximum claim as a five-race winner, back in grade has the pace to handle a wide draw.

“He was sold and re-syndicated with new owners, a smart gelding.”

Beauchamp is coming off a speedy winning double at Dubbo, new apprentice Hollie Hull claims 4.5kg and big weights are not as testing over 1000m.

At present Warren is a Soft 6 in partly cloudy weather.
