Racing NSW has been informed of the passing of former turf journalist Bronwyn Farr aged 59.
Bronwyn had more than 30 years’ experience as a Thoroughbred journalist as well as freelance public relations and marketing for clients, including peak industry bodies and prominent Thoroughbred studs.
Bronwyn ran her own company, Eight Monkeys Media and Marketing in the Hunter Valley, from 2005 to 2015.
She wrote mainly on horse racing for Australian Associated Press spanning the years 1992 to 2001 and was executive officer for Aushorse marketing for a couple of years.
Bronwyn also had a stint reporting for The Land newspaper from 2010 to 2013.
In recent years Bronwyn was a senior reporter at Cairns Post in Far North Queensland.
In earlier years Bronwyn had completed a bachelor’s degree at Queensland University of Technology where she graduated with distinction and had also worked as a volunteer for Red Cross and the NSW Pony Club.
Bronwyn is survived by her daughter Victoria.
