Reward For The Kosciuszko Ticket Purchasers - New $700K Race Added

REWARD FOR THE KOSCIUSZKO TICKET PURCHASERS - NEW $700,000 FOUR PILLARS RACE ADDED TO THE GOLDEN EAGLE DAY

As a reward for The Kosciuszko ticket purchasers where just over 260,000 were bought, Racing NSW will hold a second draw following The Kosciuszko draw tomorrow with eighteen second chance prizewinners becoming slot holders in ‘The Four Pillars’ race.

These slot holders will win the right to nominate a horse in ‘The Four Pillars’ race under the same terms and conditions as The Kosciuszko prize winners.

The Four Pillars race will be held on Golden Eagle day with prizemoney of $700,000. ‘The Four Pillars’ will open to Midway eligible horses only and will replace the Midway Race on the programme.

“The Four Pillars provides a great second chance draw for The Kosciuszko ticket holders that have helped make The Kosciuszko such a success in recent years,” said Racing NSW Chief Executive Mr Peter V’landys AM.

“The race also provides Midway stables and their owners with a chance to race for exceptional prizemoney on one of our biggest days.” Mr V’landys added.

NSW Minister responsible for Racing Kevin Anderson said The Kosciuszko is one of the racing calendar’s most popular events and commended Racing NSW for giving the fans another crack with Midway horses.

“We have seen how popular the Kosciuszko has been with the interactive experience giving a whole new dimension to this race meeting, which is one of the most exciting and best-received events on the country racing calendar.

“It will be exciting to see the outcome of the second chance draw and what the people choose from the Midway stables for the Four Pillars, as there are some very talented horses floating about at the moment,” Mr Anderson said.

The Four Pillars will be run as a Benchmark 68 handicap race over 1500m with a field of 18.

Similar to The Kosciuszko, prizewinning slot holders must receive at least 40% of the prizemoney for their selected horse. Prizemoney by finishing position is attached to this release and full race conditions will be published on the Racing NSW website.
