Racing Returns To Rosehill Gardens This Saturday

After five successful weeks at Royal Randwick, racing will return to Rosehill Gardens for Derby Day Race Day this Saturday, 4 November.

The ATC will have all of the 500 television screens across the track dedicated to bringing the live racing from both Sydney and Flemington to punters, making Rosehill Gardens the top choice for Sydney-siders this Saturday.

Patrons are encouraged to embrace the tradition of Derby Day and wear their best monochrome outfit to the track where they will have the chance to collect spot prizes by Fashion Officials on the day.

Racegoers can also pre-purchase the $39 Punters Pack at theRaces.com.au. The Punters Pack includes entry, two standard drinks, food pack, reserved seating in the grandstand, a racebook and access to the Punters Pack area within the Chantilly Bar.

Whilst at Rosehill Gardens, guests are encouraged to visit the Eats at the Gardens food precinct in the old Betting Ring where they will see food trucks serve up a range of cuisines to enhance the race day experience. Caminito Mexican, Hard Style kitchen, Street Sliders and Mr Tortilla will be complemented by a selection of James Squire craft beer in the James Squire Beer Garden.

Les Bridge-trained Slow Burn opened as the $2.80 TAB Fixed Odds favourite in the $100,000 Blacktown Workers Handicap over 1100m.

The four-year-old mare finished third last start and will rematch with Chris Waller’s In Times of War ($4.40 TAB Fixed Odds) who finished just ahead of Slow Burn in that run on 18 October at Canterbury Park.

Slow Burn will have a 3kg advantage over her opponent in the weight when they face the starter on Saturday in the sprint.

Impavido, trained by Bjorn Baker, has again not drawn a favourable barrier in the $100,000 The Lidoran Group Handicap. The gelding drew 11 at Royal Randwick on 21 October and was forced to the outside of the track for the run home to finish a close second. On this occasion, the High Chaparral gelding will be hoping for better luck when he leaves from gate 10.

On the third line of betting, top weight Mortar Platoon ($8.00 TAB Fixed Odds) for Waller Racing has also been entered. The colt was first past the post against Impavido last start, however will carry an extra 2kg in their return bout.

Stablemate Mornington ($8.00 TAB Fixed Odds) will have his first run on Australian soil since arriving from the United Kingdom in June. The four-year-old gelding won two of his six starts before arriving in Sydney.

Gates Open at 10.45am with the first race at 12.05pm.

All valid pre-purchased tickets and ATC Members cards include free transport NSW services to ensure a hassle free arrival and departure from Rosehill Gardens.

Entry is free for all TAB Rewards Members and Shareholders.

Rosehill Gardens has free high-capacity Wi-Fi across the racecourse precinct.
