Racing Appeals Tribunal - Dennis Mitchell (Outcome Of Racing NSW Appeal On Jurisdiction)

Racing NSW lodged an appeal with the NSW Racing Appeals Tribunal against the decision on jurisdiction on 22 August 2017 from the Racing NSW Appeal Panel. This Appeal was heard on Friday, 25 May 2018 commencing at 2pm at the offices of Racing NSW.

The Tribunal reserved its decision. Separate additional appeals by Racing NSW and Mr Mitchell against the findings of the Appeal Panel have been deferred pending the outcome of the appeal on jurisdiction.

On Monday, 4 June 2018 the Tribunal handed down its decision, upholding the appeal on jurisdiction:

Appeal by Racing NSW against Mr Dennis Mitchell in respect of a finding of the Appeal Panel of no jurisdiction relating to AR175A.

DECISION:
1. Appeal upheld
2. Jurisdiction in the stewards found
3. Directions for future conduct issued
